Isana Beach House

I loved staying here: this was the most classy of the places we stayed at in Sri Lanka with a Japanese/Mediterranean theme. The location on the beach was perfect with recliners under the shade of palm trees. The beach was beautiful and quiet with only a small number of travellers and locals. We went body boarding in the waves in the morning and almost had the beach to ourselves. There were monkeys on the roof in the early hours of the morning which were delightful to see.

The pond would have been more beautiful if it had been cleaned and the garden/lawn needed some work, especially if you compared it the place next door. However, next door was also more expensive.

Beautifully situated on a lovely beach- very quiet and unspoiled

Generally felt a bit spartan; room was not particularly comfortable, no comfy chairs to sit in, minimal plugs to use, no air con, although there was a fan that was working.Lighting was dim so difficult to read. but it was good value for money, just needs a bit of tweaking. They could easily out loungers on the beach, which would have been nice, and would have stopped us spending money at the restaurant next door, rather than with them.

The staff is amazing, helping in every question. The cook was also great, good location of the hotel if you’d like a quite place.

Beautiful and spacious rooms. Very friendly staff who are always around to help. Situated on the most beautiful beach in Sri Lanka where you meet cows, dogs. Local fishermen. Children playing in the waved and an occasional tourist

A charming place to stay, only separated from the quiet beach by its own large garden. Room was almost a suite with external and internal balconies, a very nicely designed bathroom, and a bedroom with en-suite toilet. Friendly staff. A comfortable stay.

Very little that I didn't like, but being picky, the lights in the bedroom could have been brighter - showing my age. Also food was a bit average ( couldn't seem to understand that I like my curries spicy). That said there are a few other places to eat along the beach.

Wow! That was clearly best hotel on my journey! Location is perfet, on the beach where is not much hotels, so, most of the time it was quite and calm. Hotel itself is owned by british influenced by japan anddesigned by Sri Lankan architect and its simply amazing! Combining traditional art and modern minimalism. Spacious rooms with the balcony or garden entrance. Hotel is managed by local lovely familly and they are super nice and helpful. There is restaurant in hotel, i was there totally alone for couple of days enjoying their hospitality and fantastic food. Finally good cofee as well! I will definitelly come back again, it was real treat! Room and whole facility was clean and maintained on daily basis. Beautiful garden with access to the beach where was two local seafood restaurants. At the end i stayed for one more day and later regreted that it was nor for even more :)

Room in the floor level at the corner of the property was too humid, so inasked to change it and i got room upstairs which was excellent.

Beautiful location at a very nice beach, a little bit away from the crowd of tourist, but still very near to everything. Super friendly and helpful owner, very nice and healthy breakfast. The room was very clean and big, even had an own balcony where I could put my hammock. In the beginning I wanted to stay for a week and in the end I ended up to stay 1 more week. The room is just as beautiful as in the pictures. I’m very greatful to find this place, and can recommend it for everybody !
