Floating Mountain Villa

We really enjoyed our stay at Floating Mountain Villa, Akila was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The views are incredible and we only wish we could have stayed longer. The food is also very good, and we were able to have breakfast and dinner on the balcony which was such a lovely experience with the views in the background.

A charming and romantic place, with beautiful views, without crowds of tourists. Very individual approach to the customer, more than professional service (compliments to Mr Akila). The only place that asks about food preferences and is ready to meet all wishes.

Probably one of the best places we have ever stayed at, and we travel quite a lot. The villa is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. The view is incredible, we had a foggy afternoon/evening and a sunny morning, enjoyed the view both times. Our room was also perfect, nice interior and spotlessly clean like the whole villa. Also had dinner which was nice and we could choose where we want to have it, on our balcony, by the pool, on the patio, in the villas comfortable living room, .. There is also a nice pool and we loved having our coffee and tea there in the morning. The absolute best though is Akila who is taking care of the villa. He was not only providing such an attentive service which every world class 5 star hotel would be jealous of, but was above all such a positive and friendly person!! We also had the honor to meet the owner Gowri, who was also very friendly and so nice to talk to. Well, to sum it up, a perfect stay we will not forget and we will for sure be back.

This was one of the most beautiful and welcoming hotels we have ever stayed at. Starting from the check-in and till the last minute of our stay, everything was perfect. Akila is the best hotel manager ever, he made our stay feel as home, we felt like we were visiting family house rather than staying at the hotel. The view is incredible, and you can watch birds and squirrels from the garden. The food was cooked by Akila himself, and this was the best food we had in Sri Lanka. Many activities to do around the hotel as well, Akila was very kind to take us on a guided hike tour with visiting a Hindu Temple. You can also visit Glenloch tea factory, which is a walking distance from the hotel, where you can experience tea plucking. If we ever come back to Sri Lanka, it will be just for visiting this amazing place again.

Big compliment to Akila, he was the best!!! i would visit this place again because of him. our child loved him, he did everything that we feel at home the place wouldn't be the same without Akila Villa, Pool, Food and co was super, we stayed for 4 nights and relaxed a lot and enjoyed it

Floating mountain has 5 well appointed rooms. It is about 20 kms away from Nuwara Eliya so it’s away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. It is was earlier a part of the Glenloch tea estate. Akila the manager is extremely helpful and is always present to make your stay comfortable. Gowri the owner was present when we were there and took us for a guided walk up the mountain. Neat clean cosy rooms. We were looking for a beautiful resort away from the hustle and bustle of the town and nestled in the mountains. The last one km will require a 4 wheel drive vehicle that is provided by the resort. All in all a lovely experience and we will come again.
