Villa Pinnawala

We’ve stayed two nights at the Villa Pinnawala in Rambukkana, Sri Lanka, and it was such a pleasant experience. The staff was very nice and couteous, tried to help answering all of our plenty questions, assisted with getting a transport to our elephant ride and to an interesting tour through the spice garden. Furthermore, they also served us a delicious local meal with rice and different kinds of curries- YUMMY! Special thanks to Nishanta, Nuwan and Malisha - it was a pleasure to meet you and we can only say “Bohoma sthuthi” once again for that excellent service. God bless and take care.

Location - amazing for seeing the heffalumps… Staff were great and really tried to help us Milkshakes bought smiles all round Next door to the river to bath the elephants

It was very tired ! The pool edges (which to be fair the staff warned us about) still caused cuts to our kids feet - it was clean however ! I sat on a sunbed and it collapsed ! I’m not a big guy…. The walls (we stayed in a family villa) needed a clean , but the sheets, pillows were all clean and good AC… In summary - a great place for one night only crash pad, we stayed for 2 - there’s nothing around there apart from the elephants … don’t not book …for the price it’s a fair deal … but know what your getting for your money … the owner needs to spend some money on upkeep and it’s getting hight score

Very kind and supportive staff! Nice green location with sone squirrels running around. The rooms are decent with nice bathroom. Location close to elephant pathing area although you need to pay tickets to see them bathe in the river which is kind of silly.

Unfortunately the place was a bit rundown. Cracks in the flooring. Paint teared off with lots of termites in the garden (okay its in nature so I get it). Pool area needs a big improvement as it's very dangerous. Tiles are broken/rundown in the pool and no cornertiles placed so its very sharp, my son cut is toe the first day and fingercthe second day, just by walking/grabbing the side. There tiles around the pool are broken and there's a massive metal panel next to the pool where I burned my feet when I accidentally stepped upon on it. So pool area is not great. For the rest it's okay.

Very kind staff. Couldn't be closer to the elephant orphanage (across the street), which meant I saw the daily walks to the river. Quiet and restful stay.

The main caretaker was friendly

Size of the room. Tub wasn't functional. Room didn't cool for a very long time! Swimming Pool wasn't clean enough to our liking
