The Reef Resort

Erg lieve en behulpzame mensen. Ik mocht de mountainbike lenen om even eten op te halen in het donker of een boodschap te halen. Erg fijn! Kamer met 2 tweepersoonsbedden, lekker bed, schone lakens. Badkamer mag iets schoner :) Heerlijk zwembad en goed ontbijt. De buitendouche is heerlijk voor na het strand. Je loopt zo het strand op (20 meter lopen). Echt ideaal!

Hotel was heel leuk, vooral de gastvriendelijkheid van Deen! Hele goede service! Ze hebben twee katten, Momo en Tjip, heel schattig en maakte het verblijf top

Superior family room was ongezellig, niks aan de muur oid. Badkamer matig schoon

Super nette en ruime kamer met hele fijne bedden. Daarnaast een heel fijn en mooi zwembad. Super vriendelijk personeel dat direct voor ons klaar stond. Eén van de personeelsleden is twee namiddagen met ons op pad geweest om de mooiste plekken in de omgeving te laten zien met zijn tuktuk. Ook konden we twee excursies boeken bij het hotel en deze waren top geregeld, snorkelen bij Pigeon Island en de Dolphin tour. Al met al een top ervaring gehad bij The Reef Resort.

We stayed two nights at Reef Resort. The resort looks quite nice both in photos and in reality. The pool is surrounded by greenery, and most rooms have a view of it, along with either a small front garden or a balcony. Unfortunately, we were assigned a room next to the reception, facing the parking lot and a parked tuk-tuk—so privacy was basically nonexistent. I expressed my disappointment, as the room was advertised as having a balcony, but I was told that the one with a balcony had a broken air conditioner. The staff were kind and helpful. After I asked for a discount, they offered a $16 reduction for the family room, but no more. On the positive side, the room itself was spacious and clean. However, there was a constant stream of ants running through the middle of the room, and the sensation of ants crawling during the night was quite unpleasant. Towels provided in the room shed excessive lint and couldn’t really be used. The resort is within walking distance of a nice public beach. We didn’t use the pool and preferred to spend our time at the beach. Laundry service costs 1,000 LKR per kilo—just be aware they use a very strong-scented fabric softener, which may be too much for sensitive noses. It’s clear the owners and staff are doing their best and are genuinely friendly and accommodating. However, the room location by the parking area left us disappointed, and we didn’t feel like spending much time at the resort.

The swimming pool was amazing, the room had air conditioning which made it very comfortable, and the owner was really friendly. It was also very close to the beach, just a short walk away.

The only downside was that the room, especially the bathroom, wasn’t very clean, which was a bit disappointing. the breakfasts were quite poor – sometimes it wasn’t even possible to eat dinner at the hotel.

The place is very nice and clean and located at walking distance from the beach. But really what made the difference for us was the staff! They are the kindest and most welcoming people we met here, in particular Mr Deen who we now call a friend!

Nice pool! You can order the breakfast and it is good too! Room clean! But the best is the Staff… so friemdly! And always trying to help! Especially Arsad, he did that we felt as at home!
