Property Notes

The Hotel Casona Los Cedros is an excellent choice for exploring the region. Located in the charming village of Espita, it offers an authentic atmosphere that allows you to discover the local culture while being close to several major tourist sites. Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your stay: Río Lagartos: This is an excellent destination for observing wildlife, especially pink flamingos. We recommend taking a boat trip to explore the lagoons and mangroves. Be prepared for an outdoor experience, so don't forget to bring appropriate clothing and sunscreen. Chichén Itzá: This iconic archaeological site is a must-see. It's best to leave early in the morning to avoid the crowds and the heat. You'll have plenty of time to take in monuments like the Kukulcán Pyramid and the Temple of the Warriors. Ek Balam: Less well known than Chichén Itzá, Ek Balam is a magnificent site where you can still climb the pyramids. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes to explore the ruins and surrounding jungle. Valladolid: This colonial town is perfect for an evening stroll. You'll find charming restaurants, artisanal stores and picturesque squares. Don't forget to visit the Zaci cenote, located right in the center of town, for a refreshing swim. Casona Los Cedros should offer you a comfortable and welcoming stay, and the village of Espita itself is a pleasant place to relax after your explorations. Don't hesitate to ask the hotel staff for local recommendations - they'll be delighted to help. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Not do happy"

6.0

The hotel itself is really beautiful and the food is excellent.

I was waiting for my delayed luggage from the airport. They did not offer any help at all. Even after telling them that someone from the airport might call and that it is really important that they tell me if they do so....they did not tell me. I spent over an hour on the telephone only to find out someone from the airport already called at the hotel (and nobody told me) Besides that the staff seems to only be friendly if you give them tips that are high enough.... beware once we got a really mad look because we gave one of the waiters/the cook too little of a tipp (we only gave a little because we wanted to give a big tip at the check out....which we then did not) It was the most expensive and at the same time the hotel with the worst service we stayed at on our 2 week trip through Yucatan.

"Gorgeous comfortable country retreat"

9.0

Gorgeous hotel, really stylish and comfortable rooms, the food was amazing. They were great at communication via WhatsApp. We ordered our dinner in advance, and they were really understanding when I wasn't feeling well and had to cancel part of the order (nothing to do with the food!) We were just here for an overnight stay but Espita seemed like a cute little town.

Shower was a little cold for us and we woke up early due to cockerels (but this will happen in the countryside!)
