Do not underestimate Hotel Peking in Taiping. At first glance it looks simple but the stay exceeded every expectation. The rooms are spotless, well kept and far more comfortable than what the facade suggests. What impressed me most was the quiet restful atmosphere, something many newer hotels struggle to offer. The staff is genuinely attentive without being intrusive and they carry a warmth that feels authentically Taiping. The location is incredibly convenient, surrounded by good food and just minutes from the main attractions. I almost did not want to rate it too highly because good places like this become hard to book once people find out. Still, credit must be given where it is due because the value here is exceptional. It is the kind of hotel that reminds you not to judge by appearances. All in, a stay that was quietly impressive and worth returning to.

The location is strategic, near lots of eating places and shops, including pharmacies.

The pillows were so hard like wood. I almost sprained my neck. Please change the pillow.

This hotel is quite old and the facilities are not well-maintained. There is only one power socket in the room, and it’s located high up, which is very inconvenient. There’s also no hair dryer provided — you have to request one from the front desk. The room has mosquitoes as well.
