Kuldigas Metropole

Excellent location, in the very center of old Town. City park, river Venta, old bridge, waterfalls are within walking distance, 1-5 minutes by foot. Quite many restaurants and cafes nearby. Small supermarket is about 10 minutes away. Free spacious parking. Nice staff. It was a bit cold in our room, so staff gave us an extra blanket.

Payment is by cash only, however, ATM machine is on the other side of the street. You need to inform exact time you will come for breakfast and choose main meal in advance. Not the best option when you are on vacation :)

The location is good. We liked meeting friendly and helpful lady at checking when called and come late. Flexibility to check-in late. It was car parking available.

Hotel room had two noisy air conditioners what did not allowed to sleep well. One was marked non-functional, but still was running and making extra noise. Hotel run out of warm water exactly when we waked up. Shower was ice cold then. Restaurant was permanently closed. Breakfast was not available to order after 20:00 for next morning, we were goaded to nearby cafeteria.

Excellent staff! Helpful and polite. A very pleasant experience! A spacious room on two levels, a lovely courtyard with a small river flowing along the edge, perfect for taking your pet for an early morning walk. There is also a hotel terrace where you can enjoy breakfast or just relax. The hotel is in the heart of the beautiful old town of Kuldiga. Highly recommended.

The lady (forgot to ask her name but thank YOU for your hospitality!) who worked at the reception - and also made our breakfast - was wonderful; kind and professional! The breakfast we had outside was very good. A nice plate of cheese, cold cut, veggies and fruit which was beautiful and also the oatmeal and scrambled eggs were tasty. Coffee was good.

The room wasnt't too comfortable. There was a lot of potential and the layout was interesting in a good way, but the owner hasn't bothered(?) to decorate the room(s) or take care of the condition of the room. The bed was uncomfortable and noisy and the pillows were poor. The bathroom was nice, though. The building itself is old and beautiful and in the very heart of the ancient village.
