City Palace Hotel

The room was relatively small, but it had a balcony with a partial lake view, which made it feel much more enjoyable. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the old town center and the lakeside promenade with boat tours and excursions. The hotel has its own restaurant and café, and there are many other restaurants and bars nearby if you want more variety. Breakfast was generous and surprisingly diverse, especially the selection of local pastries and traditional sweets, in addition to the usual eggs, cheese, cold cuts, and other standard options. Overall, a very convenient and comfortable base for exploring Ohrid.

The TV was small and offered very limited viewing options. I understand the philosophy — if you come to a beautiful lake, you are supposed to enjoy the scenery rather than sit in your room watching television. Still, after a long day of walking and exploring, it is sometimes nice to relax with an interesting movie or at least a few international news channels in different languages. The placement of the light switches and power sockets was also quite adventurous — right under the pillow area. One unlucky turn during the night and suddenly the room lights up like an emergency landing strip.

The location is great on the promenade and across from the lake. The room is spacious and the bathroom is luxurious. The breakfast is delicious and varied.

There was no kettle, coffee or tea in the room. In fact, even a bottle of water in the minibar was charged...

Das völlig desinteressierte Personal von Reception bis Service, wenn man was brauchte musste man sie suchen bzw. hoffen dass sie bald mit dem Handyspielen fertig sind. Das abgewohnte Hotel! Keinerlei Wartungen bzw. Reparaturen (Duschstange, WC-Papierhalter,…)

The room was clean with balcony and beautifull view on the lake. The bed was very comfortable. There was also safebox and minibar. The breakfast was very tasty and also big choice of warm and cold food.

The breakfast could start earlier than 8 o’clock.
