Convenient location for visiting El Rosario.

There is a 200 peso charge for one hour of alcohol flame heat in what resembles a gas fireplace. Seemed pricey when heat was a necessity. The temperature in my room plunged as soon as the flame went out. My room had 2 exterior walls but my friends had a room with rooms on each side so theirs stayed a bit warmer. The restaurant situation is odd. I asked for menus and the waiter went away for a bit, came back and asked what we wanted to order. I asked what they had (why didn’t he say no menus at the start)? The food was just okay and was a flat 180 pesos per person, which wasn’t made clear in advance. The child with us had a cheese quesadilla that was quite small, and we asked for a second one after she ate the first and was still hungry. They said yes, but it never came. The room price seemed much higher than it should have been for a hotel of this caliber, but with monarch season being short, I guess they have to make money while they can.

It was a nice structure and close enough to walk into Centro. They had plenty of blankets and fleece sheets for warmth.

The facilities were less than basic. Not even water to drink. Only two outlets in the entire place and only one receptacle functioned in each. I told staff that the sink was leaking badly from underneath. Nothing was done. The room I was initially given was below ground , freezing and had a strong smell of some cleaning product. I couldn’t sleep there. I asked for another room and was reluctantly given one letter to be told that I needed to pay the difference in cash, which in a small mountain town with only one bank machine is trickier than you might think.

the WC wasn't working well, it was a room for 7 and one single wc not working, that was troubling
