"Extremely rude staff and dirty, insect-infested rooms made this the worst hotel experience I’ve ever"

1.0

The location is near—but the rooms were dirty and the staff extremely rude, which ruined the stay.

Terrible Experience – Unprofessional Staff and Dirty Rooms I had the worst hotel experience of my life here. The staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. The rooms were dirty and infested with insects (katmal)—likely bedbugs or something similar. We waited at the reception for over 3 hours. While I understand that in Madinah, check-ins often happen after Asr, the staff showed no urgency or care. They kept repeating “5 minutes,” which stretched into hours, all while they continued personal phone conversations and ignored the long queue of guests—even as we showed them that our babies were crying. I had booked two rooms: one with 4 beds (paid extra) and another with 3 beds. Instead, they gave me two 3-bed rooms, despite clearly knowing the difference in price and my booking details. When I raised the issue, they showed me another dirty room that was filthy and full of insects (see image), and simply said, “We’ll clean it tomorrow.” How is that acceptable when I needed a clean room that night? When I insisted on getting what I had paid for, they became aggressive and told me to call the police. Their behavior was not only shocking—it was completely unacceptable. I’ve traveled around the world, but I’ve never encountered such poor service and mismanagement. It’s hard to believe that a hotel so close to the Prophet’s Mosque, in such a sacred area, could be so badly maintained. I strongly urge Booking.com and other travel platforms to investigate this property and reconsider listing it. I also plan to file a complaint with the local authorities. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
