Lunheim in Geiranger

Douche en bed waren ok. Vloerverwerming in woonkomer. Parkeren nabij apartement. Veel stopcontacten. Moderne kookplaat.Wandelpaden nabij het hotel. Tips van de eigenaar. Mooi uitzicht vanuit de tuin.

Apartement was "budget apartement" (nog steeds 1499 Nok per nacht). Ruimte was een basement en erg laag (ong 2 m) en bedomd. Kleine ramen en niet het uitzicht waarmee geadverteerd. Douche en wc waren ok, maar was alleen buitenom bereikbaar en niet verwarmd. Keuken zeer gedateerd en ongezellig interieur. Slechts een stoel in zithoekje. Geen magnetron en elektrische waterkoker - zoals beschreven.

Good location to base exploration of the town and its various offerings. Helpful owner - giving practical advice on various activities to maximise the enjoyment of your stay.

The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also large and spotless. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, and cooking there felt just like being at home. Our stay at Lunheim was a lovely experience. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, breathtaking views, and a warm, welcoming host.

I didn’t realise when booking that the kitchen was shared between three rooms. Fortunately, there was only one other couple staying at the same time, and they left early the next morning, so it wasn’t a major issue. As it happened, we finished using the kitchen and returned to our room just as the other couple came out to use it—perfect timing. I understand that some people really value their privacy, and I probably would have preferred a private kitchen myself. If I had known in advance that it was shared, I might have reconsidered. That said, I’m genuinely glad we stayed at Lunheim. The manager was incredibly friendly and full of local knowledge and information—especially for guests who have time to chat. We were on a tight schedule and unfortunately had to cut the conversation short, which made us feel a bit bad, as he was clearly enthusiastic and generous with his time.

Self-contained cooking facilities. Location.

Our host’s manner was defensive and accusatory when we calmly and politely raised two issues relating to the facilities with him. Firstly, the stove top would not turn on. The host used the term ‘bullshit’ when I first raised the matter with him and told me I should go and try again. I did persuade him to come and check the matter out in person. He too was unable to start the stove top and we had to transfer to another kitchen to cook our dinner. Next day he was able to deduce that the child lock had been activated inadvertently (not by us) and we were able to use the cooktop the next day. Secondly, on our second morning the power tripped. The only electrical items we had switched on were an electric kettle, a rangehood light and the kitchen light. Our host’s written response (via the Booking.com app) was defensive and seemed to imply that we were at fault. These problems made for a less than ideal stay but the situation could have been rescued had the response of our host made not made us feel so uncomfortable. Instead, this was our least favourite accommodation in Norway.
