Hotel Alexandra Loen

We decided to splurge on one of the deluxe fjord view rooms on the 7th floor, and overall the room itself was the highlight of the stay. It was large, modern, and had super tall ceilings that made it feel very spacious. The balcony was also a major plus with beautiful views of the fjord and the cable car. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the chandelier in the entryway added a nice touch. That said, the bathroom didn’t quite match the level of luxury or design of the room itself and felt much more basic in comparison. The location was very convenient — within walking distance to the cable car and about a 35-minute drive to the glacier. Free parking was also appreciated. The hotel overall felt a bit inconsistent. While our floor appeared newly updated and much nicer, the lobby felt dark, dated, and in need of renovation. It honestly felt like the 7th floor was the only truly modernized section of the property. Breakfast and dinner buffet were included with our stay. The restaurant staff, especially the head waiter, were kind and welcoming throughout our visit. Unfortunately, the food itself was our least favorite of the entire 9-day Norway trip. Everything felt very bland and seemed geared more toward accommodating large tour groups than providing a memorable dining experience.

Beautiful and so modern decor while still having so much character. Location near the water insane. Walking distance to Loen Lift makes it even better. Wish we stayed longer instead of just passing thru Loen. We did the Loen lift. Insane.

Breakfast was excellent, such a huge buffet. The girl on the spa desk was really lovely and the massage was incredible!!

there was scaffolding over the outdoor pool and drilling - sad I couldnt enjoy these facilities. I was warned to not go when the cruise ships are there so check Also a metal drain plate kept coming off my bath that hadnt been fixed
