Ha Lan Homestay

Yen and her family provide a most memorable experience. The homestay is clean, comfortable, and more than adequate for a short stay in this beautiful region. The food is excellent, with a full menu available until 2200hrs every evening. The bedrooms are basic, spacious, clean, and comfortable - exactly as depicted on the website. The location of the property afforded a great opportunity to witness the daily rhythm of life in a rural hamlet. The highlight of our stay was our interaction with the host family. When words failed us, which was very often the case, online translators filled in the gaps. Highly recommended, without any reservations.

There was nothing not to like. Perhaps the towels could be bigger, or the bicycles a bit better - but these are trivial matters.

Amazing and magical place. The stuff are extremely friendly family, they are serving restaurant grade food coocked my mother for very affordable prices, view from the windows ale astonishing, same as per offer pictures. Highly recommended!

This has been the nicest place we have stayed in our entire South East Asia trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and helped us out with loads of really good tips and information. We rented a scooter from the homestay which was very easy. They did our laundry and returned it only a few hours later. The room was the biggest we have stayed in and it was very clean and we were given fresh towels and water every day. The bed was massive and very comfortable. The location is so beautiful and by scooter you can travel into the old town/to all of the major attractions (eg. boat tours/pagodas) easily and quickly. The breakfast each morning was delicious and really filling. We also ate a few meals here and they were all lovely as well. The stay was also insanely good value. I would really recommend a stay with Ha Lan. Thank you so much Yen and the family!

Lovely homestay in the Trang An area, it was great to be in a quiet village as opposed to a noisy town. The accommodation was very comfortable, we had a quiet room on the top floor. The hosts were very friendly, arranging some laundry for us as well as bikes and a driver for our day trip to Bai Dinh. The food was fantastic, they took our breakfast order the night before so it was ready soon after we came down which was a nice touch.

The best Homestay I ever stayed. The room is super clean, nice view, good atmostphere and swimming pool. Yen and her family always smiles, felt like home. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner during my staying. Highly recommend!

The best Homestay in Vietnam. Everything is perfect. The room was clean, nice view. Homestay is run by a local family, they are friendly, welcoming and helpful. There is a restaurant at downstair. The food was delicious, nice atmosphere. There is a swimming pool that looks great. I wish I could stay longer. Highly recommend!

Very easily accessible to all the major tourist spots in Ninh Binh! Amazing hospitality and service by the staff, saw to all our needs and helped us in whatever way they could! would definitely recommend if visiting Ninh Bing

I have to say that this homestay truly provides top level customer service, beyond what was expected. The host was very responsive to all my inquiries. When I booked the wrong room (1 bed) she offered to room my friend and I to another (2 bed) at no additional charge. She was quite helpful and informative regarding planning my daily activities during my stay. She helped with organizing transport to and from the Hanoi airport directly, so I did not need to personally figure out the logistics of transportation…and to boot, the price of the transportation was quite reasonable in comparison to what is typical. Finally, on my day out, I needed to store my luggage in Hanoi as I had a late flight and wanted to explore the capital, and she even called in a few favors among her friends to arrange for that. I don’t think this is an actual service, so I would caution having this as an expectation. The homestay itself was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. The staff were friendly and all smiles. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. I felt that the host really wanted me to have the best experience in Ninh Binh that I could and did everything she can to help me.

This is not really a negative, but more of a suggestion. If the menu (they have a restaurant downstairs) had photos of the food that were prepared, I would have been more inclined to order more. I don’t think there needs to be a photo for every dish, but possibly the house specialties.

Lovely property, really kind staff - thank you! Tasty food and good breakfast included with option to add other items from the menu including coconut coffee and cappuccino etc for an extra charge. We ate in the restaurant every evening. Bikes available for rent. Staff didn’t speak a lot of English but we managed well with Google translate. They have a pool but we didn’t swim in it. Location was perfect for us near to Hang Mua and Trang An. Fridge in the room, kettle and bottled water. A/C. View from room of mountain.

Could dust the room a little better, a few cobwebs around (but the room was kept very clean otherwise).
