"Charming"

10.0

Charming old hotel with equally charming staff. Near to the amazing castle so location was excellent. Rooms were enormous and exceedingly clean and well kept. We were with friends and given an apartment so to have our own sitting room was a joy. Breakfast, Polish style, was fresh and plentiful. Would heartily recommend.

"Great hotel, perfect service, fantastic atmosphere!"

10.0

This is a kind of family business, and you can feel it. Atmosphere is great: staff is very friendly, rooms are cosy, drink bar is a little bit "romantic", but it is not mawkish. Breakfast was rich, fresh, and tasty, served just like at home: you can sit comfortably at the big table set with good taste (porcelain, napkins, teapots, flowers, etc.). The whole hotel was renovated recently, it is comfortable furnitured. There is a parking place at the backyard. It is a really good choice.

"A charming, old fashioned small hotel"

8.0

You won't get luxury or contemporary design features at Stary Malbork, so if you need that, try elsewhere. My wife and I prefer old-fashioned, European-style hotels like the kind we both remember from the 1970's and 80's to the ultra-modern, shining, corporate cookie-cutter places that pampered tourists now seem to demand. Hotel Stary Malbork is definitely not cookie-cutter. But its old-world, quiet charm makes up for that. As soon as we arrived, I knew we would be in good hands. The utterly charming young receptionist, dressed in the pseudo-Teutonic knight tunic you see worn by people at Malbok Castle, checked us in efficiently and gave us a room upgrade right off the bat. We didn't even have to ask for one. She showed us all over the hotel, and gave us maps of the town. Our room was quite large, with a queen-sized bed equipped with two separate down comforters. There was a large commodious bathroom with facilities that worked well -- better than ones at other Polish hotels we've stayed at. The breakfast was not spectacular, but adequate -- and certainly plentiful. The location is 10 minutes easy walking distance to the Castle, which is the only reason to visit or stay in Malbork. No complaints!

"Very comfortable hotel"

10.0

We only stayed one night. The room was large and airy, and the bathroom spacious and clean. It is only 20 mins. walk to Marlbork Castle. The pool table in the downstairs bar was good and the range of drinks OK, although the actual bar was not open when we were there, it was Sunday night. The offroad parking was appreciated. Breakfast was good, with scrambled egg and Frankfurters as well as the standard rolls, bread and cold cuts. Compared to hotels in the western part of Europe, very inexpensive. A very enjoyable overnight stay

"Very Poor Services"

2.0

This hotel is located near the Malbork center The rooms are acceptable without air condition but the service and the quality offered for food like a breakfast and the restaurant is really low. I Suggest this hotel only for sleeping; but if you looking around you can get better Hotel and Professional Services.

"Great hotel"

8.0

Due to time differences between Australia and Europe it was difficult to get a response to my initial emailed request. Despite this the booking was confirmed and staff were very friendly. We stayed for two nights in a double and a single room. The small single room looked away from the main street and although very compact was comfortable. The double room was so large with windows facing the street, yet not noisy. The bathrooms were both large and very modern. A very nice clean renovated hotel. Staff were friendly. Restaurant downstairs is small and food OK. The kitchen closes at 9pm. The restaurant just down the road is better. Safe car park at rear of hotel which is locked up at night. I'd certainly recommend this hotel to all.

What a really lovely hotel. Very kind, helpful staff, and a very pleasant, quiet and well-appointed room. The breakfast was delicious. I was not feeling well when we arrived, and the staff could not have been more helpful.

"Excellent Hotel Stary Malbork"

10.0

The most enthusiastic staff I have ever come across; helpful, warm, quick, but not in your face. Not polished like the excellent and superb Adlon in Berlin. Really impressive to remind me of the Adlon. Why, in both places they care about you enjoying your stay. They want the hotel to do well, and the staff look after you well (with no hidden contempt); for me thats great service. It's a pleasing building; the room was really good and very spacious, nice period feel with good modern standard. Its not high spec more comfortable. The resturant is more a clever use of a basement than attractive, but the food was very good, and the effort of good design overcame the limitations of the space. Comfortable, attractive, quiet, good looking, but above all great staff. Secure parking at rear, 10 minutes walk to the castle. I hope this new hotel does well, they want to, and they are doing all the right things, to me it shows how the staff are what really makes a difference. Must be a good managment ethos?
