Friendly laid back atmosphere.

Insect screens instead of windows. Terrible noise from generator outside my window all night long. Shower not working on arrival. Just entirely unacceptable.

Location, staff and the vibe

It's very close to a really good beach, they have generators in case the power goes out (which is super normal in Zanzibar) and the breakfast was good.

It's not a clean place; there were many things lying around, damaged things, the seat cushions looked dirty, there's a clear lack of maintenance. It looks much better in the photos than it does in its current state, so it doesn't really match what you see. The receptionist's customer service was not very friendly. When we arrived there wasn't even any toilet paper and we had to ask for it; they gave us some used toilet paper and then after they finally gave us a new piece of paper. These are small details that ultimately make a difference and demonstrate a lack of care in the place and for the customers.

There could be air condition in the rooms

The property is located close to one of the best beaches in Zanzibar! The staff is great, specially Ali and Mohamed who were very friendly and gave us great tips for tours and where to buy stuff! The breakfast is fine and they also serve a la carte menu for lunch and dinner with good options and reasonable prices.
