VAT tax was requested via email AFTER booking.com bill was paid. We were able to enter, but emails kept coming after. Hard to know if they were legit, especially after all the warnings booking.com sent about scam emails asking for subsequent payments. Long story short, we paid the VAT online quite reluctantly since it seemed legit. Wanted to do the right thing for the people renting the place. BUT STILL HAVENT HEARD FROM THEM THAT WE PAID THEIR VAT NOR ANY KIND OF THANK YOU. Still waiting for some kind of confirmation of payment or message from our credit card provider that we’ve been scammed, or apology from the flat’s owners about the Netherlands change (from 9% to freakin’ 21% VAT) in taxes which somehow evaded booking.com’s knowledge or ability to charge ahead of time. 21 % VAT! Think about that. And the Nederlanders just put up with it and pass it on to their clients as a surprise after booking was supposedly complete. Your Socialist countries at their best. Or…. my credit card provider will tell me I’ve been scammed. Either way: vacation in a different country from now on.

Beautiful, very clean, and quiet property. The bed was very comfortable, the staff were fantastic, and the check-in/check-out process was easy and smooth.

There was no lift, and the stairs were very narrow. There was also no proper clothes cupboard, with clothes hanging space only available in the bathroom.

De locatie was erg goed, naast het fort en dicht bij het centrum van Maastricht. Ook was er voldoende parkeergelegenheid op straat. Het was erg fijn dat er ontbijtspullen, een tafel, 2 stoelen en een koelkast beschikbaar was in de comfort room, net als gratis goede koffie en thee in de koffiecorner beneden. Ook zijn er wat andere drankjes te koop voor wie wil. De bedden sliepen heerlijk en fijn om pas om 11 uur te hoeven uitchecken. Wij zouden hier zeker opnieuw verblijven.

De trap is erg steil en daardoor minder geschikt voor grote koffers of wie slecht ter been is. De badkamer was open aan de zijkant en bovenkant en daardoor was er weinig privacy. Parkeren ging prima, maar helaas moest je op maandag tm zaterdag een dagkaart voor 8 uur 's ochtends kopen, dus je moet wel voor 8 uur opstaan.
