Thundi by Biosphere

This hotel is right on the beautiful beach, with easy access to the bikini beach side. The house reef is just steps away from the hotel and was incredible for snorkeling. We also watched dolphins from the beach both mornings we stayed and the excursions we booked through Thundi were really good. We swam with dolphins, manta rays and turtles - absolutely unforgettable experience! The hotel staff were extremely helpful, Nazyh was always there to help with anything we wanted and even got on our 4.30am boat with us to take us to the domestic airport. The room itself was also very nice with a large comfortable bed and large walk-in shower. This hotel exceeded our expectations and made the Maldives even more special for us than it already was. We are already planning our return visit to Thundi Village ☺️

Location! It was right next to the beautiful bikini beach. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers lots of excursions and is more than happy to assist with travel to and from the island. The cooking class was a great experience too. Thank you Thundi!

Some of the food could be improved i.e. overcooked chicken in the burger and a very salty wrap.

Thank you very much to Nazy and his Team for everything. They helped us with everything to the fullest, and the 12 nights we spent there will be an unforgettable experience. The food is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the beach is very close and impeccably maintained. The kindness and humanity of the staff are captivating, and the island residents are also wonderful. The programs offered by the accommodation are varied; we were lucky enough to see manta rays and whale sharks, and they even organized custom programs upon request. They did everything to ensure we had a great time, and when we needed help due to illness, they immediately took care of everything. Thank you very much!

The staff was very kind and the location was great

We had amazing and relaxing six night stay in clean and spacious room with sea view . All staff were very friendly, the breakfast and dinner was super tasty. Really loved excursion ; snorkelling and fishing, which we booked in hotel . We had amazing fishing trip , Indian ocean / sunset was so pictures and all experience was fantastic. The hotel kitchen chef have fried the fish , which we caught for us . Thanks to all hotel staff for such a welcome stay and excellent communication by e-mails . Enjoyed being in this island with friendly locals around and eco environment.

The charm of this place is the fact that everything slows down. If you can lean into that, this is an amazing place. Literally 10 footsteps to the beach, a panoramic view of the seashore during breakfast and mingling with the locals on the island is lovely, a great relaxing atmosphere where nothing is urgent or stressed. The staff are great, helpful and very friendly. The beach has a shallow shelf reef with a deep dropoff to explore with a large amount of sealife, we saw a large eagle ray, a resident black tip reef shark and moray eel, a large stonefish, a turtle, fish of all types and we got lucky to see a mantis shrimp. If you feel adveturous, walk through the mini jungle to see bats, banana trees and birds to reach the South Eastern point of the island to snorkel in the very shallow water of a fish nursery, including small morays and sharks (mind the tides and the current though). Half board was sufficient food for us, with enough variety of the buffet. The food off the menu was good too and they served fresh seafood at times at no extra cost some nights. There are a couple of local restaurants and small corner shops for snacks too.

The first week mid March was dryer, the second week saw an increase in mosquitoes after a stormy shower or two overnight. Not a major issue, just stay away from the jungle. No issues other than sunburn, cover up!
