"Good for first stay in Bukhara but would choose differently next time"

7.0

Really pretty rooms and courtyard, super clean, and excellent location – right on the edge of the Bukhara old city so that you can have taxi access with your luggage vs. having to walk inside the pedestrian-only old town with it.

The value for money isn’t great. Breakfast buffet was the worst out of 4 hotels stayed in Uzbekistan, and I get that Bukhara is more expensive than other places, but a 5-star hotel in Tashkent was cheaper than this yet the quality showed in everything. Just didn’t see it as much here. It’d also be nice if they would accept credit card for payment; I take responsibility for not reading the “cash only” fine print on the Booking description, though I don’t see how they expect guests to be carrying millions in som with them to pay for their stay – most Western banks won’t even allow that much to be withdrawn in a single day. They actually do have a credit card machine and insist on cash I’m guessing to avoid the fees, which should be affordable to them with the high charge per night.
