Hotel Bastion

Our room was lovely: warm (snow would soon fall outside), clean and cheerful. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. The location was very good--close to Peles Castle and to town. Because it is in the former royal stables, away from the busy tourist sector, our room was exceptionally quiet, a change from where we had stayed in town in past years.

There was no lift and our rooms were on the third floor. That said, a staff member kindly helped bring our bags up when we arrived late in the evening. (This was welcome after being stuck in traffic from Brasov for seven hours!) What we definitely did not like was the attitude of the reception staff when we asked if they would kindly call a taxi for us when it was time to leave. We asked for this at 11:00, in plenty of time to be sure to reserve a taxi to get us to the train station for 18:00. It was only when we returned from our day's excursions around 17:30 that the call for a taxi was made. None were by then available. Pointless to add that if the call had been made at 11:00 a reservation could surely have been made. Then, instead of being offered a ten minute ride by one of the staff members, we were casually told, without apology, and two of us in our 70s, that if we walked (down a steep hill, in the snow, after dark, with luggage) we would still make our train. This felt like communist-era 'service' at its stingy worst.

Am ajuns la 17:30 si nu era nimeni in receptie ( am asteptat mai multe minute pana am primit cheia ). Am ajuns in apartament si la baie am gasit pe toaleta banda care ne anunta ca a fost dezinfectata, in schimb toaleta era plina de fecale, sange ..etc ( am chemat receptionerul, a constatat dezastrul, si a trimis pe cineva de la bucatarie sa curete toaleta ). Pe oglinda din camere era amprente, si cine stie ce mai era.. Apoi am observat ca este frig in ambele camere ale apartamentului, caloriferele fiind reci, am sunat iar receptionerul si ne-a spus ca porneste a doua centrala. Caloriferele s-au incalzit, dar in camera erau 16-17 grade, asa ca tot frig a ramas. Caloriferele au functionat 2-3 ore si apoi caldura a fost oprita. Practic tremuram de frig si voiam sa plecam in jur de ora 22, dar fiind cu noi un copil, si dupa un drum de aprox. 6 ore, am renuntat la aceasta idee. Am tremurat toata noaptea de frig, am dormit mai mult imbracati, si abia dimineata, la ora 7:30 - 8:00, calorifele s-au incalzit din nou, dar deja nu mai conta pentru ca am plecat.. Am platit 700 lei / noapte, pentru aceasta experienta mirobolanta si horror la grajdul numit bastion..

Locatia buna, cald in camera, curatenie in fiecare zi, baia renovata, micul dejun bun, personalul amabil.

E foarte putina lumina seara pe Aleea Pelesului si ne-am simtit in siguranta doar cu masina. Dar nu cred ca depinde de hotel.

Totul a fost ok.
