Posada del Faro

First time visiting Jose Ignacio and this place was wonderful. We came at the end of November so it was warm during the day and a little chilly at night. The hotel had a big fire place in the common living room area that made it so cozy. I loved the different spaces outside of the rooms. The breakfast was excellent. The space was beautiful. They had bikes and golf carts to use while we were there to explore the rest of the area. I would recommend this place if you want a quiet beautiful stay near the beach.

What a fabulous stay. This has catapulted up to near the top of our favourite hotels. Staff were superb; the room was comfortable; breakfast was lovely; and we particularly enjoyed taking a little golf cart to drive around the town. Super relaxing, very stylish. Note however that we visited during fabulous weather but before the Dec/Jan crowds arrive. The town was empty, as was the hotel, and we relished the tranquility. It would be a completely different (and perhaps just as good) experience during the crazy peak in Summer.

There is very little we would change. Jose Ignacio is quite a tedious drive up from Montevideo, but that contributes to the remoteness and exclusivity of the town. We would certainly come back.

Location is perfect, great views from sunset and pretty close to the beach (just crossing the street). The pool is spectacular and continental breakfast is outstanding with good quality of the products. It also counts with many common areas well designed and comfortable.

Location, design, homey feeling and nice vibe. Staff are also very friendly and helpful

breakfast could be diversified, e.g. include capuccino or other type of coffee
