At Gate Thaphae Hotel

Very pleasant and fairly new - good design. Spacious and spotless room, comfortable bed, no noise disturbance and very central.

Like so many hotels around here, shower water fluctuates without you touching the control - you can be standing under the flow and suddenly it gets scalding hot or goes cold. I don't know why this is so common. Breakfast was a bit limited.

Location and the staff was exceptional. The manager was super helpful

Booked a 4N stay in this hotel due to good comments found in website. Indeed the hotel room was clean and staff at reception was friendly and willing to help when I requested to book Grab to airport during checkout. This hotel is locate in a quiet lane within 5 mins walk to Thaphae Gate and easy to get Tuk Tuk or red van to visit tourist attractions. Optional to have breakfast in hotel but limited choice of selection from menu. Plenty eateries you can find around such as Macdonald, StarBuck, local food etc. Overall stay is pleasant with the charges you pay per night is reasonable, for a small boutique hotel.

It was a gorgeous hotel in a quiet location close to all the attractions. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help with anything.

The only down side is that there’s no pool or bar on the property.

We had a wonderful stay here for one week, very cozy clean hotel and location was very good as well. My husband and I were enjoyable and relaxed here. Next time in Chiangmai again we will definitely choose same hotel. Highly recommend!

A beautiful building spotlessly clean. Very omfortable room well serviced daily. Very generous bottled water. Great shower with plenty of hot and cold water. Lovely linen and towels. The staff are so helpful and generous with their efficiency and friendliness. The manager and his team are worthy of special mention. So he.pful in organizing Grab Cabs ( Uber) for me. A bright airy building, modern but in traditional style. I just loved the 0lace and will certainly return. Thumbs up all round. My highest recommendation.

Great location right by the East Gate. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was quiet and the rooms were dark which made sleeping easy. I couldn’t hear other hotel guests while in my room at night.

A few aggressive lady boys seem to use the streets near the hotel to try get customers (which is out of the hotels control)

The architecture of the building is unique as it isn't just a block, you feel like you're stepping into a resort in the middle of the city. The staff were extremely helpful especially Leon, he helped us with everything we needed such as booking a tour, a motorbike, basically anything.

Nothing we disliked. Only thing is that the Tha Pae gate area is home to a lot of pigeons, so be prepared to be visited by them once in a while.

Just outside of the old city gate and walking distance to shopping, tourist sites and nightlife is this wonderful hotel. The staff will go out of the way to help. They have bicycles for those who want to see more of the city. On a quiet street close to many restaurants.
