Mahi Mahi Beach Hotel

Spacious room with sea view, very friendly staff and quiet location a bit outside the center. Perfect for those who want to relax! In addition, there are beautiful monkeys that occasionally come from the trees behind the hotel to greet you. Advised!

In a quiet tranquil part of Jambiani, great for relaxing. Room is spacious, bed comfortable, black out curtains. Basic but clean bathroom. Large balcony, shaded with furniture. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Beach is clean and safe with no hassle. Swimming possible at high tide in morning and afternoon. Breakfast is very plentiful and the dining area very pleasant with cooling sea breeze. We had a very enjoyable stay and wish it could have been longer.

The location by the beach and the amazing view of the ocean right from my room was everything I needed. I woke up every morning to the beautiful sun rise.

Lovely staff, clean room, unbelievable views of the indian ocean. Good food in the restaurant. The hotel organised 2 trips for us, a local one to see dolphins and a day trip to see a spice farm, Prison island and a walk round Stone Town; very good.

A little bit of cupboard space, had to live out of my suitcase. A little further than expected from the town, but we wanted a quiet time and we got it.

My husband and I recently stayed at Mahi Mahi Beach Hotel, and it was truly a delightful experience. All rooms offer stunning ocean views, creating a serene atmosphere. The accommodations were clean and equipped with both air conditioning and fans, ensuring comfort throughout our stay. The hotel is beach front and has direct access to the beach, you can walk on a beautiful white sand bank once the tides recede. The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. They helped make my husband’s 40th birthday celebration unforgettable, surprising us with a complimentary cake and a charming dinner setup by the pool overlooking the beach. We were gifted with a sweet drone video of us walking into our dinner🥰. A special thank you to Diane for her quick arrangements and assistance with transport and activities. Chef Steve’s food was fresh and delicious, and the restaurant team—Isaac, Gody, Justin and Skola—exceeded our expectations with their attentive service. Isaac’s cocktails were really good. The Masai were also helpful and gave us an entertaining traditional dancing show on our last night.

The hot water ran out quite quick but it didn’t bother us too much because the weather was very warm anyway. Plus our overall experience more than makes up for this.

Jambiani has one of the best beaches - turquoise color and free of sea urchin.

Cleanliness: The room was not clean upon check-in with hairs from previous guests still present. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was disappointing - e.g. stained towels and bed sheets, sticky tables and chairs in the restaurant area. Food: very poor quality, is greasy and doesn't taste good. They offer à la carte breakfast with quite some options, but the only somewhat acceptable items where the "harsh brownies" and the guacemole toast (even though the avocado did not taste fresh).

It is situated at a really beautiful beach part of Jambiani, and compared to the other hotels it is quite private, you do not see the other places from here. Amazing view from the room and the cozy balcony and very nice staff.
