The staff was friendly

This was our fourth time at Rijks over a period of 5 years and it is very sad to see that this once beautiful, vibrant place has been so neglected. The biggest suprise for us was that the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner..It is definitely not worth the money! We stayed in one of the cottages. Basic amenities were lacking, the pool had no umbrellas. The cottage in general was not clean and paint is falling from the walls. The towels and linen need a refresh. Taps leak in the basins. I pray that this once beautiful, amazing place returns to its glory.

There was no water and we were not informed about it. So we could not shower for the entirety of our stay. Only after we asked many times and escalated did they provide drinking water and cans of water to flush the toilets. We booked 4 rooms for our group. Two of the rooms had dirty dishes and food still inside from the previous guests. We had to ask several times before it was removed. The beds were not clean - some beds had hairs inside the sheets and on the pillows. Absolutely disgusting. Poorly managed.
