The Reserve Retreat

The room was quaint. The staff, that we saw, were friendly. The café food was tasty and cute. Everything was very clean. We loved the coffee in the room and they left us a bottle of wine!!

Really only two things, that were actually huge! We had to walk by a patrons eating in the restaurant downstairs any time we wanted to come or go. This was awkward because it is an upscale establishment. It felt very uncomfortable bringing our luggage within 2 feet of their dining tables. The other was the traffic through the night... it was so loud. With all of that said, I do think there are rooms available that are not above the restaurant or near the road ;)

Our stay was a bit frustrating, especially for me, as I had many expectations of a friendlier place where I could share nice moments. The reality was quite the opposite; we came back from the beach and entered the restaurant, which was full, and everyone looked at us in unison, and we thought, 'oops, did we interrupt something?' It was a bit awkward. In the bathroom of the room, the air conditioning vent was leaking and my husband almost slipped. Lastly, I wanted to make myself a coffee in the morning upon waking up, but there was no water in the coffee maker. I added two bottles of water, but it wasn't enough. I felt sad for not being able to connect with the spirit of the place that I hoped to find. Finally, the air conditioning is very noisy.

The room was very charming and clean, with everything we needed: fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV, toiletries... even a trunk full of board games! The beds were huge and comfortable. Check-in/out was straightforward. There was a nice surprise (bottle of wine) waiting for us in the room.

It got pretty hot in the room after a few hours (~78 degrees), we woke up sweating in the morning. We couldn't figure out a way to change the temperature and we would have texted/called the number provided, but we were checking out in the morning so it wasn't worth it. I would prefer not having to walk through the restaurant to get to our room, but it didn't bother us much.

Kitchenette with small stove/oven, full size refrigerator/freezer, sink, dishes and silverware. There was a complementary bottle of wine and the king size bed was very comfortable. Very cute and comfortable!
