Summer Place Umzumbe

The location of this property was perfect, right at the beach and point for surfers. Facilities were clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the lovely view of the seas from the couch.

Just note, there is no power or inverters for load shedding but this wasn't a problem as emergency lights are provided.

Excellent fishing spot. Remember it is a bathing spot so you got to walk a bit before you can get a spot to fish. Weather was not on my side. I nevertheless enjoyed myself.

Most amazing view and direct access to the beach. Even though the surrounding area was struggling without municipal water, we had no problems as there was ample water on site with the Jojo tanks. 👏🏻 Being able to watch the most amazing sunrises from our doorstep, was a genuine treat. The clean beaches, lifeguards on duty, being able to watch the local surfers 🏄‍♂️ Fishing 🎣 Safe enough to walk along the beach for miles . our unit was aptly named Paradise!

Pity about the noise of the generator during the intermittent power outages at night. There was an emergency light provided in the unit, but would have been nice to have a couple of candles as an option as well. and maybe a small gas cooker to at least boil water ?

The Place is well kept, and Eric was very accommodating, we had a wheelchair user with us and within minutes Eric had made a ramp with a piece of wood and bricks and it was sorted. the unit was clean, had everything we needed. Beautiful views and even with loadshedding, rechargeable lights are provided. Was a wonderful stay. Aircon in Main room wasn't working, aircon tech was there within hours and problem was sorted. Easy Access to beach, with Tidal pool. Beach was quiet and had lifeguards. Close and central to Wildcoast and other south Coast attractions, felt safe and secure.

The appliances need some TLC, and I don't think it's from lack of Maintenace its the sea air, stove only has two working plates and microwave overheats and then cuts off. The Place is advertised as having a private garden / deck and beach access however all guests seem to use the path through the lookout to access the beach, which is a bit frustrating. If you don't like dogs, don't book, every chalet other than ours had dogs. Plan ahead for food, the closest shops are in Hibberdene and quality is questionable.

Location is amazing. On the beach. Literally!!!
