value for money- a bit expensive for what it was.

A family run business that has it all: great location, history, atmosphere, care and attention down to the smallest detail. The room decor is gorgeous, each with their own theme and special flair. Classy is the word that comes to mind. Great food in a variety of locations on the property is available. Very friendly and professional service. Try as I might, I could not find fault. Even the mattress and bedding were heaven - I had to take photos of the labels to see if I can find them for myself at home! 10 out of 10. Value for money does not begin to cover it. We loved this place!

It has been many years since my visit but Im going back again. The food was delicious. I was there mid Dec. and the only one in the hotel but they still put out a spread in the am fit for a king! Meats, cheeses, and fruits were all displayed with expertise.

Great food in the resraurant, good German breakfast buffet, clean and comfortable hotel. The room itself was simple but you can't expect really much for this price. I forgot there my cell phone charger and they sent it to me back immediately. If I am again in Gera I definitely will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed for four nights as it was near to frriends and we could not have picked a better hotel. From check-in to check-out nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. The hotel room was really clean and I loved the way that it was laid out. The restaurant was in a separate building so we were not disturb with the various Christmas parties that were being held there but we could always get a table for an evening meal. The breakfast room was below ourrooms so we did not have to leave the building to get to breakfast. The first morning, it was great to see faces had been drawn on the boiled eggs and there was a great choice that was always replenished. There was a fridge in the room and they left a small bottle of mineral water each day with their compliments and also a small pack of sweets. If you were not happy with the pillows that were on your bed, you only needed to contact the reception and there were four different pillows to choose from. Every day, all staff greeted you with a smile and went out of their way to ensure that you had all that you wanted. We wanted them to order a taxi for us one morning to take us to the railway station but instead the owner drove us there himself and insisted it was all part of the service. The rooms were close to the road but there were double glazed as it was not a very busy road so there were no noise to disturb us and the rooms were well heated. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we will certainly be back to stay at this establishment again whenever we are in the area.
