My wife and I have just returned from three days in the Manor House Hotel. We took advantage of a March promotion. What a welcoming place. Lorna, David, Stephen and Claudia at breakfast couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was elegantly decorated with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom, with walk-in shower, was immaculate. We never actually met the housekeeping staff but they keep the accommodation spotless. David is very knowledgeable about his wines and spirits and after returning from dinner in the town we enjoyed a bottle of wine with a seat in the lounge by the roaring log fire. On our final night we enjoyed a beautiful plate of Scottish cheeses and charcuterie in the bar. The hotel has excellent views out over Oban bay and is just a short walk up the hill from the railway station and ferry port. We couldn’t fault the hotel and are happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a short break in Oban.

The staff, bar and breakfast were all great. And the position looking over the harbour is great.

The house was very pretty, well cared for, and there were lots of little additions I appreciated like the biscuits in the room, the soaps, selection of teas, and smart TV. I couldnt stay for the breakfast but the facilities looked very good.

Outstanding staff: just the right amount of friendliness. Charming. The breakfast was wonderful: a variety of high quality choices. Lovely breakfast room. The setting/location was also great: close enough to walk from the train station and into the town center but quiet and peaceful.

The room was a bit small.
