Kinazi Upepo Beach Eco Sport Resort

It was absolutely amazing !!!

Vegetarian food was so nice Gym, and also all staff was so helpful

-Kinazi Upepo is a beautiful place to stay. I've know Zanzibar fairly well from previous trips and the location of Kinazi Upepo is the best in Paje. Everything is close by, it is an unbeatable location. -I think we also had the best located beach hut (hut number 3).

-There is an AC unit in the rooms which because of the power outages beeped all day and night (worse during the day) because they don't have a back up generator. Thankfully, my partner is an electrician so he was able to deal with it. -We had a weird scenario one evening when we went out for dinner then came back to find our door was ajar and our room fan was missing. Nothing else was missing but it was strange since we'd locked the door when we left. I went to reception the next day to ask about it and they said they had taken the fan. They didn't say why and seemed unfazed about why I was concerned. I was told they would return it imminently yet we had to go back to reception two or three more times before we got it back. Very strange behaviour. -Kinazi Upepo's airport taxi rate is US$60 one way which is more than double the (already overhyped) tourist rate.

Location, views, well equipped gym, but still avoid at all cost.

Where to begin - firstly ignore the dozens of fake 10 star reviews. Air conditioning does not work, power is off half the time (and unlike pretty much all other hotels, there is no generator), curtains are so small they barely cover half the window, was given 1 stained towel (no floor mat or hand towel) for a 2 night stay, anyone can walk in from the beach and the locks are flimsy, no safe in room, Wi-Fi almost non existent, toilet leaks, pictures are fake (taken of the owners cabin), food average at best, looks like it’s been years since any maintenance. I was promised a partial refund which was never received and messages and calls have gone ignored for weeks.
