Location and surrounding nature

No restaurant, the room we had did not have privacy, bathroom is very basic and sink was blocked, not eco friendly and not organic products as described

Staff here were fantastic, a bit further out from Ubud so very quiet and relaxing. Staff happy to organise bikes and other transport to get into town. Pool was lovely and clean, room was dark and effective aircon, comfortable beds, good shower and water pressure. Set near a river for a nice walk. Good value for money if looking for a quieter place to relax away from the busy centre of Ubud.

One of the rooms had a very loud aircon and sheer curtains so was quite bright overnight. The roof of this room also leaked during heavy rain overnight but only in the bathroom so not the end of the world.

Loved waking up to the sound of frogs and roosters with a gorgeous view of the rainforest right there. Such a relaxing, peaceful place. Staff are so lovely!

The only downside was the restaurant not being open all the time, it was understandable as there weren’t many people staying there at the time.

No power backup, in case of power failure it's totally dark. Most of the facilities are not available.

Great breakfast, super comfortable bed in a spacious room, friendly staff

No sound-proofing between rooms, could hear everything. Windows and doors rattled when either you closed or the adjoining room closed the door. Shower not partitioned from the rest of the bathroom, so everything got wet, we kept towels on the floor to mop-up the water. This place is touted as a "wellness retreat" but smoking...yuk...is allowed in the communal space where the only coffee & tea making facilities are. Not Tattva's fault, but a good 20 minute slog through congested roads and bumper-to-bumper-to bumper traffic from early in the morning to late at night if you want to go to Ubud central.

Great price, fantastic breakfast included, lovely staff, really comfy bed in a spacious room. Now for the not so good. There are 6 rooms arranged back-to-back in 3 pairs. The only sound-proofing between the rooms is the thin wooden wall that divides them so you hear all the action going on and no doubt they hear yours. The shower is not screened in any way from the rest of the bathroom, so you have a shower and everything else, including the toilet, gets wet, so we kept towels on the floor all the time to soak that water up. The window frames in you room rattle loudly every time the door of the adjacent room is closed and no doubt vice versa. Nice pool. Good wi-fi. Shame that Tattva, which touts itself as place of healing allows smoking on the premises. Most of the photos on-line are dated, it's obvious that there's been a rough make-over. This place is not a convenient distance to Ubud central, which brings up another point of why you'd want to go to Ubud in the first place because the place has been ruined by traffic....bumper-to-bumper-to bumper traffic crawling along every street in, out and through Ubud from early in the morning to late at night. If you think you'll "find yourself" through some spiritual experience by going to Ubud all you'll find is being stuck in traffic breathing fumes and praying that you don't get hit by somebody on a bike or in a car. Add to that the garbage strewn around everywhere. This is a crying shame about which the corrupt authorities couldn't care less.

Tattva Retreat was like a little bit of heaven 🤗 we had a wonderful time there the staff were amazing, the view from the terrace was lovely, the yoga and the breakfast was fantastic.

We loved all about our stay there!
