"Tickled trout delivered"

9.0

Very friendly nothing was too much trouble, loved the history of the place, food outstanding. Dog friendly but only saw well behaved dogs, lovely location.

Not a lot to not like Decor a bit tired in places but did not distract from a great stay

"A wonderful experience and exceptional value for money."

10.0

Continental breakfast was marvellous, including home-made granola and freshly cooked pastries. Location is good, at the end of a country road so it is in a quiet area but with easy access to York and the A1.

Nothing could have been better!

"A Wonderful Country Inn with great staff, rooms, food and drink."

9.0

This is a fantastic and welcoming Country pub on the edge of a lovely hamlet. The staff are great, and the breakfast is probably the best I have experienced during our many trips. The room was lovely and the bathroom had a wonderful roll top bath and large rainwater walk in shower. For an Ale drinker like myself, the Timothy Taylors Landlord was brilliant and we ate in the pub each of our 3 night stay and all the food was of the highest order, including Sunday roast, Steak burger, Stonebaked pizza. It's clearly popular with the locals and it's understandable why. If we didn't live 250 miles away, we would be regular visitors, but we shall still be going back at some point. We were directed to some lovely walks in driving distance at Scar reservoir, Grassington and other Dales locations. York and Harrogate are also a short drive away. Note: There is Wi-Fi despite the booking.com page saying No Internet Access.

Honestly couldn't think of any faults. Maybe if I was looking to make a suggestion I'd say provide a couple of EV charging points and charge a sensible rate for guests that covers cost and a small profit, say 50p/ Kw as opposed to the 89p/ Kw currently at the local services. And maybe a 10% bar / food discount for overnight guests.

Lovely location with great food

Room and bathroom bit dated with leaking shower cubicle and spiderwebs
