Beautiful rooms. Super comfy beds. Excellent food. Locally sourced. Lovely friendly efficient staff.

The fan going on in the night when the bathroom light was put on. However it was only the next morning I noticed a cluster of 3 battery candles which could have stayed on all night. Problem solved.

"Can be managed better"

The rooms were really comfy and clean

Having to wait at the front of the restaurant for a long time before being seen to regarding checking in. We felt out of place standing there waiting to be seen holding our luggage.

"Clean and friendly, but away from everything."

Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Hard to watch telly from the bed and no chair to sit in. Nothing else nearby that you could walk to.

"If Carlsberg did Xmas inns……"

Location, Staff, food, hotel Xmas ambience was outstanding. We were taking a trip to York, wanted an old fashioned inn for an overnight stay with a cosy open fire, Xmas music in the background and quality food to set us up for a days xmas shopping in York. Perfect
