Lil's On The Waterfront

This is a fabulous location. It's a quirky place but I like that. It's really more like an old fashioned 'inn' in that it's rooms above a pub. You will not find a better location - it's overlooking the river Ouse and it's right in the centre of town. The staff are great and all smiled and are wonderful.

Not much to not like. Yes, its an old building and has maybe needs refurbishing but it's not a chain and this makes it wonderful.

The location was excellent and the room was clean with everything we needed. Great value for money.

Great location, right in the heart of York with a view of the river.

Pink mould on shower head, shower fluctuates between boiling hot (from which I have burns) and freezing cold, dirty toilet paper behind window, desk flaking and broken, only one functional power point, fan in room did not work, TV came off wall, steep stairs to get to room, room door difficult to open. I was ignored by staff when checking in, one very polite girl greeted me immediately and alerted another (the supervisor?) to my arrival, the second girl walked past me to continue a conversation with a co-worker before finally acknowledging me. However, after the delay, she was polite.

The location was perfect close to all tourist spots and right on the river.Also discount on food and drink at Lils and a couple of more establishments.Staff friendly and helpful.

The room was number 7 at the top of a steep staircase so not fit for someone who cannot manage stairs. The room itself was basic and could do with new furniture and decor, the bed was facing away from the window so obscuring the view with a large headboard. Turn the bed around.it was advertised as a room with a view.The bathroom was okay clean with clean towels. I found the bed comfortable but others may not. So in all it needs new furniture. The bed turned round and made to feel a little brighter. But okay for an overnight stay .

Good location, clean comfortable and quiet Apart from binmen at 5am, though windows were open which made us laugh

Not much coffee facilities ( 2 sachets of coffee isn't enough, maybe provide more) and shower drainage is/ was blocked/ slow , otherwise a decent stay and would recommend, staff friendly

it was just somewhere to sleep glad it was only one night

when we walked into room 7 it smelt like a sewer it was really bad, so i rang and complained the lass i spoke to was good but didnt sound that shocked by this and got us a room change pure luck there was one available otherwise we would of left, the room we got room 3 was ok bed was uncomfy and tap in bathroom was ready to fall apart but put up with it for one night,we go to york olot but this is by far the worst it was also disappointing because it was for my wifes birthday and wanted the river view the only reason i booked it really,this is first time i have ever felt the need to complain about accommodation and was suprised they didnt contact to apologize

Convenient location

It was disgusting. The room was filthy. There was mould on the curtains, broken floor titles in the bathroom, marks all over the walls, lamps were dirty and flickered if you so much as touched them, no toilet rolls, no toilet seat cover, uncomfortable bed. I'm just grateful I'd only booked it for one night and I took photos as evidence otherwise no one would have believed just how disgusting it was.
