Maestral Adults Exclusive Hotel

We have been guests since 2002, so before the hotel was renovated and as amazing as it was back then, now it is even more beautiful since the renovation. Very modern and clean, staff was also amazing especially ms. Ana at the reception. Very good breakfast and dinner and also very close to the beach!

Ho prenotato due camere presso il Bluesun Hotel Maestral ma, a causa di un problema tecnico in una delle due camere, siamo stati spostati all’hotel Bluesun Mala Berulia. Non avendo avuto la possibilità di alloggiare dove avevo prenotato, la mia recensione si baserà sull’hotel dove siamo stati spostati. La cosa che mi è piaciuta di più è sicuramente la posizione. La camera aveva una vista mare favolosa ed era vicinissima alla spiaggia e alle varie attrazioni. Ho apprezzato molto la cordialità dello staff che ci ha assistito senza alcun problema ed è stato molto gentile e disponibile nei nostri confronti.

Ribadisco che questo giudizio si basa sempre sulla mia permanenza all’Hotel Bluesun Mala Berulia, non avendo avuto la possibilità di stare nell’hotel che avevo prenotato. Purtroppo ho trovato insoddisfacente il rapporto qualità-prezzo. È tutto davvero troppo caro e la cena a buffet, quasi 40€ a persona, non era assolutamente degna di questo prezzo e non era una cena da un hotel a 5 stelle. Anche i prodotti del mini bar avevano dei prezzi terribili, infatti non abbiamo aperto nulla. La pulizia delle camere non era il massimo e l’ultimo giorno avevamo il soffitto pieno di moscerini (e non venivano da fuori perché abbiamo aperto pochissime volte la finestra). La porta di una delle due stanze era difettosa e infatti il secondo giorno non sono riuscita ad entrare e ho dovuto aspettare che i tecnici venissero ad aggiustarla. Le camere non sono di un Hotel a 4 stelle. La struttura principale, Hotel Bluesun Berulia è molto carina ma purtroppo, anche in questo caso, non penso si possa definire un 5 stelle. In linea di massima il nostro soggiorno è andato bene e la posizione, con il mare stupendo, e lo staff hanno contribuito a rendere la nostra vacanza molto piacevole, ma considerando quanto abbiamo pagato, mi aspettavo un po’ di più. Abbiamo molto apprezzato la prontezza dello staff a trovarci un’altra struttura dove poter trascorrere la nostra vacanza ma è davvero un peccato che non siamo riusciti a stare al Bluesun Hotel Maestral.

Maestral was renovated some years ago and still remains tidy and neat. The architecture is spectacular in the lobby and on the ground floor where one can find the dining and breakfast area. The bar has been moved outside by the pool which is a better choice than in the past. There is "Yugoslav" charm, stone and wood being the natural elements inside what is a clever concrete building which utilises the downward sloping location for a car park coming from the road. We were very pleased with the room which was clean and fresh. The view is breathtaking from the balcony overseeing the swimming pool area, the cedar covered beach and further away a scenic view of the Split channel. The evening sunset was something not to miss and the dining buffet was outstanding. So was the service. The breakfast was maybe the best I have seen in any luxury hotel, ever! The swimming pool area is like a haven where one can relax with a drink and a book, taking regular dips into the perfectly heated basin. Almost no fight for the sun-benches which was particularly pleasant to avoid. There is a nice promenade into the small harbour town of Brela, where we took some light lunch in one of the pleasant little restaurants by the seaside. We had lunch twice in the small place second from the corner of the harbour proper and we do believe that was the tastiest shrimp garlic combo we have come across anywhere.

Maestral is rather expensive, that is, the nominal price during the high season. We were at the end of September when prices were more reasonable and it is a total must to take half board as well. That is money well spent to say the least. We knew Maestral from ten years before so we were aware of the situation at the beach in front of the hotel garden. In short the beach at Brela/Maestral is completely overrun by locals. Every day! A good walk to either side from the Brela beach proper brings one to adjacent beaches which offer a much more enjoyable trip into the ocean, which was rather fresh. So prepare for a nice walk with your beach kit to spend the morning at the beach (a bit windy) In the afternoon you can relax by the poolside with a very appreciated Gladno Pivo and some Bjilna wine. In general, the wine offered at the hotel is spectacular for a modest price. There was some entertainment in the evening sessions which was not intruding and we enjoyed the local musicians. The ride from Split airport is longer than we expected and a bit more expensive than we had remembered. Have the good people at the reception arrange for a transfer with a nice taxi car.

Personeel van bar en ontbijt waren zeer vriendelijk, ook de mannen bij de receptie hebben hun best gedaan binnen hun mogelijkheden.

Eerst de airco die door de huishoudelijke dienst centraal uitgezet was, je kon enkel verwarmen. De kamer was echter ruim 25 graden en heeft de hele dag in de zon gelegen. Ook in oktober is het dan echt te warm om goed te slapen. Daarnaast werden we de volgende ochtend overvallen door een waterafsluiting, waar ze van af leken te weten, maar het niet nodig vonden om de hotelgasten voor te bereiden. We konden ineens niet douchen en naar de wc vanaf 8:00/8:30u. Net als alle gasten dus zo’n beetje opstaan en juist willen douchen en naar het toilet willen… zeer teleurstellend.

Ununterbrochen Musik überall, von morgens bis spät abends. Blättergebläse ab 8 Uhr morgens.
