Middle of town the family who run it are absolutely lovely. Food is superb, what ever you choose. The local Cenotes are amazing.

"great small town"

Lovely on-site restaurant - good budget spot - great location for ruins the next morning

There are some roosters, but you are in a rural area

"Nice hotel for a short stay in Coba"

7.0

Location of property is good, short walk to ruins. Rooms are nice. Bed was comfortable. There’s a nice relaxing area on the balcony and around the pool. The pool is a good size. Some restaurants around. Would recommend the hotel for a short stay.

The kitchen facilities were poor and kitchen wasn’t clean. I was the only one staying at this hotel at the time so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Bathroom was on the small side but manageable. WiFi was a bit slow in room.

"Disappointing"

4.0

Nice swimming pool, kitchen and area outside.

The room in the ground floor was very humid and smelling bad. There was not any wardrobe where to put clothes. We could not sleep well because of bad smelly air in the room and also because there was a group of US men who tought the hotel is just for them and were very noisy.

"Great option for Cobá!"

10.0

We very much liked this hotel. It’s a bit dated and rustic but that adds to the charm. The room was nicely decorated, clean and had a hot shower. One night the water pressure was very low, I think this had to do with a lot of people taking showers. It was not really a problem for us. We ate at the restaurant (Chile picante) two nights and the food was good with vegetarian options. As people wrote in other reviews, there are roosters and dogs who can spoil your night rest. This a town problem and part of the adventure of traveling. Bring earplugs or play music on headphones if the noises bother you. Coba is a nice Mexican town where people live in the traditional Mexican ways and have their animals roaming the streets and yards. There is much more to do in town than we expected. The nice lady at the hotel gave us lots of information (in Spanish). We visited the ruins (easy walk from the hotel) and rented bikes at the entrance to the ruins to bike to cenotes. The ride can be a bit tough due to some hills and the heat but cenotes are worth it. You can also visit a traditional Maya town on the way but unfortunately we didn’t have enough time. Coba is definitely a nice escape from busy Tulum!

"Adequate for our purpose but wouldn't want to stay more than a night."

Close to ruins which was our main purpose for visiting Coba.

Dog barked all night. Cock crowing.
