The rooms and the garden are nice and the location is good (but they are some downsides you need to consider, especially the attitude of the staff).

1- The staff was highly unfriendly. During our 3 night stay the woman in charge was always cold and not so nice. You wouldn't feel comfortable to ask tourist questions. But we didn't mind. However the last day we asked that they do our laundry. She charged us for 5 kilos of laundry when we had only 3. She refused to check if her manual weighing machine was accurate. I checked mine with a 2.5 water bottle so i'm 100% mine was accurate. I couldn't believe my eyes on how she reacted. We had to pay the 5 kilos when we checked out the next morning. I don't know whether she knows her weighing machine charges extra, or if she didn't take the time to test it after we told her. Anyhow, it's not for the money, but for the attitude. We wanted to extend our stay and come back there after our treks but we changed hostel. 2- For the rooms with shared toilets : you have to go outside and down stairs. She showers are not very practical and hot water takes time to arrive. But it's ok.  3- Rules are a bit “strict”. Check out at 9am. Breakfast between 6am and 8h40 and not later. If you want an egg for breakfast you have to pay 3 soles extra. If you go for a hike and leave your luggage, it's free for 3 days but then they charge you even if you stay for a total of 5 nights. Again, it’s not expensive and we just went with it, but you really don’t feel they make an effort so that tourists feel comfortable.
