Hotel "VIRGEN DEL SOCAVON"

Excellent location. Comfortable bed. Bed linen, pillows and towels all very good quality. WiFi only so-so. Breakfast good if you're on a diet.

Some rooms have no windows. Our room, at the front, had only a lightly opaque blind that let in the street light so a sleeping mask was required. We were charged about 18% more than the price quoted on Booking.com. When I said we shouldn't be charged the tax, was told the extra was due to the Booking.com commission. She dug in her heels and said even with the extra charge, it's still cheaper than their usual rate. I was tired from a long bus ride, so paid it.

In one night there was a loud Party in the hotel until after midnight. The rooms have milky glas to the corridor. During the night the lights in the corridor permanently switch on and of, which shines into your room, so that you never have a dark room for a long time!

Good location. Good breakfast.

We called the hotel the night before to verify the price and they wanted to charge us more when we arrived. When we arrived the staff told us the checkout is at 11:00 A.M. They called us at 10 A.M to tell us the check out is at 10:00 A.M.

Room was very cosy and comfy, nice and bright with a balcony and a nice view over the Virgen and the square. Very convenient location close to main tourist landmarks, but also well insulated from the noise outside. Supermarket downstairs, very convenient. Also a sauna downstairs but we didn't try it...

Room smelt like gas from the gas heater, we told reception but they didn't seem bothered. No hot water in the shower. Breakfast was a bit disappointing.

Light sensors in the hallway kept flashing on and off which can be seen through the transparent block wall in the room that faces the corridor. Distracting when trying to sleep.

Location was good, has a good view

A dated, sterile business like hotel, way too expensive for what it is.

Nothing

Very little bedroom for 3 people, shower and heating don't work properly. Furthermore I use the laundry service and they ruine all my dressing using bleach. Very disappointed ☹️

Maybe better curtains to block the light would be cool:)
