Clean, safe and quiet

Pre arrival communication and airport pick up was a failure. It' s better to use a taxi at the airport than relying on the airport transfer from the hotel. No communication.

This was my second stay within several weeks. I was greeted like an old friend. The room was just perfect. When my flight to Colombo was cancelled due to Cyclone Ditwah the hotel was happy to extend my stay, arrange new transport to airport when needed and assist in other communications contact. All in all a brilliant hotel and staff.

I have nothing to note that I would wish changed.

friendly and helpful staff- clean and big room

—Great location! It is either in, or immediately outside, the main tourist district. Major western hotel chains like the Westin, Sheraton, and Crown Plaza are only a 5-8 minute walk away. —Very comfortable beds & pillows —Good water pressure. Plentiful hot water. Did experience weak water pressure and minimal hot water just one morning out a six day stay. Otherwise, it was very good. —Very helpful & friendly Front Desk staff. They know good English too. —Very good security guards at hotel. —Lots of bathroom amenities like toothbrush/paste, body lotion, etc. —Good A/C in room. Can adjust yourself (the temperature setting lowers periodic for some reason, but then goes back to your setting). —There is a welcome drink of fresh papaya juice which was kind of nice. —The breakfast buffet was very good, both Western and local specialties. They even have a cook-to-order omelet station (which I was surprised for this size hotel). No fresh brewed coffee, though (only instant). —Everything in the hotel is clean and in good order. —Good selection of TV channels, including a few in English (news mostly). —The hotel is in a safe area. —They have a mini refrigerator in the room packed with drinks and goodies (extra cost).

—The WiFi was just OK (low bandwidth issue?) Could not video conference for whatever the reason. —The containers in the shower for shampoo and body wash were empty (I like my own shampoo anyway, and prefer soap bars which were provided).
