It is a wonderful small boutique hotel. The area is totally safe and walking around also in the evening was fine. In my room it was completely quiet and in the night there was no sound. Best place to relax in the big city. Many restaurants around and as well bus stops very near.

"Lovely little friendly and very comfy hotel"

9.0

This is a lovely very friendly small hotel full of charm. One of the best nights sleep I’ve had in Ecuador thanks to a very comfy bed, nice cotton linen that actually fits the bed properly (hard to find in Ecuador or seems), duvets rather than blankets, and a pretty quiet night. Good eating nearby ( including 4 or so vegan places within a few blocks) and good craft beer at Sinners cafe just a block away. Good breakfast included with eggs etc though bit limited for vegan (bread jam fruit coffee tea).

Nothing to dislike. The area is a little dull apart from its restaurants and bars, as it lacks the buzz, culture and colonial architecture of the old town, but on the flip side felt much safer to walk about at night than the old town or Mariscal areas. Was a Bit of noise late on saturday night from nextdoor sushi bar but nothing that closing the room Window didn’t solve ( this is one of the first places I didnt need ear plugs!).

"Ok one night stay"

7.0

Casa Aliso is located in a nice area with lots of restaurants in walking distance nearby. You have to ring the bell for entry and thankfully I never had to wait longer than a few minutes whenever I came back to the hotel. There is beautiful artwork throughout the hotel and a few sitting areas on the first floor. I appreciated that they were able to call a taxi for me to go to my dinner reservation and also to go to the airport the following day. My flight the next day was very late on a Sunday (this was also election day) so many places were closed early. I was grateful that I was able to store my luggage for the day while out sight seeing and that I could come back to the hotel for a while and wait in the den for my taxi to the airport.

My confirmation specifically stated my room was located on the first floor, but I was given a room on the second floor. I was only staying for one night (and had already been brought up to the room), so I didn't ask to move. It didn't seem like there were many other guests, so I don't know why I wasn't given the room I reserved. If you're staying more than one night you may want to confirm your room type before you leave the desk in the lobby and end up trekking your luggage to the wrong room. The room I had was quite large with 3 beds, a large armoire to store my clothes and belongings, and a nice bathroom. The water took some time to heat up and the room itself was also cold. At first I thought this was because all of the windows were open, but after closing them realized it was just the room. The blankets could have been warmer. Maybe the large room was considered an upgrade, but it seemed like a waste for one person. Just my opinion. Breakfast was lackluster and kind of sad. There were only a few bland pastries available and the fruit didn't taste the freshest. Tea, scrambled eggs, and juice were also provided. I suggest getting breakfast elsewhere.
