The Traxx Hotel

I expected a budget Hotel and the price for the area and time of the year was good. The bathroom was too small. If you were bigger than myself (UK men size XL) you wouldn’t have been able to sit on the toilet as it was too close to the Shower cubicle. There was no soap or a spare toilet room in the bathroom. I went to ask for both but the reception had closed by 7pm. In a Hotel I expect a manned reception throughout my staff. I would say that this is a Guest House as opposed to a Hotel. The room clearly hadn’t been deep cleaned in a while. The room badly needed updated. On the plus side the bed was comfy and I slept very well

I expected this hotel not to be too great, with only the one photo, but it was worse than I expected. The bed was a mattress that the springs threatened to break through the covering. The bathroom was unhealthy if anything. When showering the shower door would leak water towards the toilet which the tile linoleum, was already peeling away. Once the water hit the area, all one could smell was urine. We’ve stayed a not so nice hotels, but why this hotel is even recommended by Hotel.com begs me to question confidence in this website.

Good location, short walk to shops and pubs and the staff I saw there were nice and helpful, I can’t fault them. Slept well clean comfy bedding.

The shower room and toilet didn’t have a door it was like an open cupboard, also didn’t look fitted well and alittle dirty around the toilet and sink area. I paid for a basic single room which is what I got although the pictures were of a different nicer looking single room. The door to the bedroom had a gap underneath so it was very loud with people walking around and when locked it wasn’t fully closed, attached picture is of it locked. The front door in the evening when staff weren’t there is tricky to unlock which they did warn me about but still not good.

Location was convenient near the train station

This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever been to. Pillows were dirty with hair on it. They never came to clean the room. Beds were shocking

Room was comfortable, location great and the staff were lovely. Would stay again.

Maybe a few more bathroom supplies can be provided e.g small shower gel or shampoo. That's nitpicking though I must stress.
