Shower struggled to get hot water

Η ντουζιέρα ήταν λίγο μικρή και με υφασμάτινη κουρτίνα που ακουμπούσε πάνω στο σώμα…..😌 (ίσως είναι δική μου ιδιοτροπία)

The accommodation is spacious, clean and well maintained, and was cleaned every day. The bed is comfortable and the air conditioning fantastic. We had a ground-floor room with a great view of the bay and the sunset - and it was lovely to enjoy time eating and drinking outside with such a nice vista. It's in a good location, walking distance to the town but not too close that it's noisy (even though there are bars close by, we didn't hear them). Wifi is okay and there's a safe.

The three things which are the most important to us unfortunately didn't hit the mark at Omirikon. Firstly, the walls and ceiling are paper thin which meant we could hear every sound people were making - from speaking and dropping things on the floor, to a staff member banging about and doing the laundry at 5.30am in the morning. A decent, full night's sleep is imperative to us and we rarely got one here. Secondly, we chose this accommodation based on it being self catering. It had an abundance of plates and bowls but hardly anything to cook with. Thankfully, when we asked the receptionist for a frying pan, she offered us a small pot (no frying pans available), but the room was really lacking in utensils which made it very hard to have a self-catering holiday. Thirdly, the swimming pool is so tiny to the point I would class it as a bathtub rather than a pool, which for a hotel where most beaches are at least a 30 minute walk away, if not a good drive away, is disappointing. Another couple of things is that the shower is the classic really small Greek hotel-style shower with a curtain that constantly sticks to you; when it rained, water came in under the door; I saw that there were quite a few washing machines but when we asked to use one (and happy to pay), we were refused, despite them not being in use at the time. It would be super useful to have washing machine usage as a facility and charge residents three or four euros. As usual in Greece, just one bin and no recycling facilities provided, which is so disappointing in today's environmental challenges.
