Hotel Elfbuchen

we discovered this place by chance, traveling from italy to scandinavia. the place is so special for the attention to detail, the kindness of the staff and the goodness of the food, that we decided to plan the return trip around this stop. highly recommended!

The tranquility, the comfort of the bed , the swing, the lavish breakfast, and the proximity to Hercules, the Lowenburg Castle and Providence.

The surrounding nature and the rooms

It was pitch dark when I arrived, you have to drive through the woods and there were no lights when I arrived at the property, not at the entrance and not on the parking lot. There was nobody at reception for two days. I got a message that the key was in a box. This is not an airbnb but a four star hotel! I’m traveling solo so I don’t want to have the feeling that I’m all alone at night in the woods! The next morning no one at reception, I had to search where to find someone. No warm welcome. Which is a pity because the hotel is really nice but they could do better in terms of hospitality.

The hotel has two names. The name in Booking.com is not the name in navigation systems.

Clean, quiet, peaceful, normal internet connection

Far from civilization; restaurant is not working, so you can't eat in the evening; breakfast starts at 8:00, but nowhere is it written about it, except in the information in the room; invoice could not be provided in the morning - no apologies or suggestions about it were made

I was the first time there and will be back with my wife later this year. The bed was for me too small, but I chose the single room with a single bed by myself, so nothing to do with the hotel - I will not repeat this should I again stay there alone. The location is for me just great, in the middle of the woods/park - ideal for walking and bike riding. The restaurant was excellent and exceeded my expectations, not on the low end of the price range of course, but that is justified.

The only thing I missed a little, and I am sure my wife who does not speak English is the fact that they have no English news and or movie channels.

Loved our stay! Gorgeous property in a peaceful location. Free parking. Elevator so you don’t have to carry bags upstairs. Our room was huge, warm and comfortable. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was very enjoyable, wonderful service and delicious food. Breakfast was set up at the table for you, eggs cooked to order and was a lovely start to the day. We loved meeting Captain, the guest relations dog, he’s gorgeous! Thank you for a lovely evening!

We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful family hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the family dog, which added a lovely touch to our stay. We booked a standard suite but got a sweet upgrade to the deluxe suite, and it was so comfy and gorgeous. You can tell they put thought into every little detail, and there was even a nice welcome note from the staff waiting for us on the table. The vegetarian food at the restaurant was amazing too! We loved our stay and will definitely remember this place.
