Haveli Taragarh Palace

Excellent hotel given the very affordable price, with friendly and helpful staff and perfect location just 10 minutes away from the City Palace. Tucked away on a narrow alley, so no noise from the main street. Great views from the terrace with a decent restaurant. Wi-Fi is very good on the terrace and the lobby, so-so in the room. Manager/owner Michael offers bike trips to the countryside (lakes, temples, Sukh Mahal palace, former royal hunting ground, villages and other interesting places near Bundi) which I highly recommend. Michael is very knowledgeable and therefore a great guide, so you learn a lot about the area, history and life in India from him. He also helps with all sorts of information. This is the first place (out of 3) we stayed at in India without any hot water problems. Overall great place to stay and superb value for the money. There is a good loundry just two minutes away, if you need to have your clothes washed.

The window faces a wall, so there is no natural light in the room, but anyway you will probably not spend much of the daylight hours in the room.

First, the hotel is everything you could ask for- a huge room,, a comfortable bed, hot water when you need it, thick walls, fantastic location near the fort or market. However, the reason you should stay here is for Michael- he has the kindest soul. He made us feel like we were at home. He's so happy to help you with anything you could need. This isn't help for a commission/baksheesh, this is help because he loves travelers of all kinds. Really, I can promise you that you won't regret staying here for one second. Also, the view at night is the best in the city;)

This hotel is in an ideal location in Bundi! Close to lots of restaurants and cafes and easy walking distance to almost of the main tourist sights. Michael (owner) was so friendly and helpful, always stopping in the streets to say hello and ask how our day was going. He was even good humoured when we woke him up at 1am to leave and get the train! We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Bundi!

This was a fantastic guest house and one of the best I have stayed so far in India. Michael, the owner, came to the bus station and picked me up on his scooter at 10.30pm and Vishal, the chef, stayed up late just so I could have dinner which was absolutely delicious. I spent alot of time with Vishal who walked with me around the lake, cooked me some excellent food on the upstairs terrace overlooking the Palace (which seemed like one of the best views in town, especially for sunset) , and was great company. He even offered for me to visit his family with him. It felt like a home stay with close friends - the vibe was very chilled and natural. The rooms were clean, quiet and well maintained. On the final night, Michael took me to his family home so I could watch Brazil vs Croatia in the world cup, and his lovely family made us a Chai and it was a really lovely authentic experience. There were no boundaries at this place, and it was very well run. I would highly reccomend if you're staying in bundi and I hope to return for longer.
