Joy Hotel

We stayed at Joylife in Melitsa with no particular expectations, and we really enjoyed our time there. It's a simple and well kept, three-star hotel with everything you need if you're planning to spend most of your days exploring the island, as we did. It is about 15 min walk to Sidari, the closest beach and more populated area, there you can find busses to many other beaches as well. There is also a supermarket right next to the hotel. The owners were truly fantastic—warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The service is very basic, but that suited us perfectly. We weren’t looking for luxury or room service. One thing to note: during our stay, there was limited warm water available, which was a bit inconvenient, especially in the mornings. That said, the incredible swimming pool more than made up for it—it’s genuinely one of the best we've ever had the pleasure of using, and became a highlight of our stay. And we can’t forget to mention their little dog Dolly—she’s the sweetest girl ever and made us feel even more at home. Overall, if you're after a relaxed, no-frills place with good people, a great pool, and a very sweet dog, Joylife is a solid choice.

Piscine agréable, l’hôte est tres sympa aussi. Les chambres sont régulièrement nettoyées, le personnel est à disposition si besoin.

Les douches peu pratiques donc à chaque douches c’était l’inondation de la salle de bain. Seule petit bémol car sinon très bon hotel !!

The rooms pool area and bar were very clean and tidy, I was very impressed especially the pool area. I'm not a pool man but it looked amazing. My room was great and had a pool view which made it extra special. Sophia was great friendly and helpful.

The air con unit was very loud and probably could have someone look at it, it shouldn't make that noise. There was a kettle and cups for my coffee/ tea in the morning which was great but weirdly no spoons to stir my drink.

On est déçues par la qualité de la chambre au vu du prix payé. Elle est vieillotte, ne dispose pas de moyens de cuisiner (il y avait seulement des verres, une cuillère et un couteau pour deux). En arrivant, la salle de bain était infestée de moustiques, collés au plafond, rendant désagréable l’utilisation de la salle de bain. En demandant une solution pour les faire partir, la dame à la réception nous rit au nez.

Joy Hotel was in a good location. About a 20 minute walk to the town. I felt very safe as a solo traveller to be staying here. I also loved how it had a pool

Per fortuna abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel solo una notte. I problemi sono iniziati già al momento del check-in: siamo arrivati alle 16:00, ma non ci hanno fatto entrare perché, per errore durante la prenotazione, avevamo selezionato una camera singola invece di una doppia. Eravamo in quattro, e i nostri amici avevano un terzo letto libero nella loro stanza. Abbiamo proposto di pagare un supplemento e aggiungere una persona alla loro camera, ma ci è stato negato. Ci hanno detto di aspettare fino alle 17:00. Il nostro tempo a Corfù era limitato, e in altri hotel queste situazioni si risolvono facilmente. Alla reception ci hanno assicurato che ci sono camere libere, ma devono essere preparate, anche se la nostra proposta sarebbe andata benissimo. Alle 21:00 abbiamo chiamato per confermare che fosse tutto a posto, e lì è iniziato il peggio: ci hanno chiesto di presentarci immediatamente con i documenti. Eravamo a 15 km dall’hotel — normalmente basta inviare una foto del documento e mostrarlo fisicamente al momento del check-in. È stato molto scomodo. Quando siamo arrivati, ci ha accolti una donna bionda che ha iniziato a fare domande invadenti del tipo “perché non sorridete?”, poi è passata a domande sulla nazionalità, facendo osservazioni molto inappropriate. Alla fine, alle 22:00, ci ha detto di cercare un altro hotel. Siamo rimasti scioccati. Se ce lo avessero detto alle 16:00, avremmo cambiato hotel senza problemi. Non ho mai visto un comportamento così maleducato in nessun paese, e viaggio molto. Sull’hotel: Hotel vecchio, mobili logori, stanze soffocanti, aria condizionata non funzionante, televisori antichi, al posto del lenzuolo c’è una tenda di tulle. La posizione è lontana dalla spiaggia — controllate bene la mappa prima di prenotare. Ci sono molti insetti, grandi e piccoli, e uccelli che volano nei corridoi (allego foto). I ventilatori dei condizionatori sono nei corridoi — non sono sicura che sia nemmeno legale.

Sofía era una persona muy agradable. Nos dio las indicaciones que necesitabamos para nuestra visita. Incluso nos ayudó amablemente con las dudas que surgieron. La habitación era grande y nos hizo un upgrade gratuito al llegar. La cama era bastante cómoda y el apartamento estaba muy limpio. Definitivamente una buena opción si estás por la zona. Repetiríamos sin duda.

Estuvimos dos noches y no encontramos nada negativo, nuestra estancia fue agradable.

Rooms were spotless , pool area & sunbeds deep cleaned regular, The food and drinks were great and not silly hotel prices, we happily stayed at the hotel in the pool area all day and ate and drank there putting money back into the hotel . Heading to Sidari strip in the evening worked great for us . Didn't get fleeced for air con on arrival like a lot of hotels in Corfu. It was all included in the room rate . Sophia and her family do a great job at making your stay special .

Nothing , enjoyed everything about this little hotel.
