Loved the style, architecture and the friendly atmosphere. The staff were so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.

The design of the rooms is excellent and they feel charmingly traditional especially with the individual internal garden for some of the rooms. The staff went out of their way to help us with all our requests.

The pillows were quite hard, difficult to sleep The location was about 15-30 mins away from major tourist attractions, quieter area Quite expensive given that it had no facilities i.e. gym, onsen

The staff and onsen bath were great, as the traditional beds on the tatami. Walking distance of the Arashiyama bamboo forest, the monkey forest and the Tenryu-ji temple and a few steps of the Katsura river and the Togetsukyo bridge

No food options within the hotel on the night of our stay nor at the next morning due to staff holiday.

Perfectly located, new and beautiful small hotel. Extremely kind staff, with gorgeous natural wood and stone decor and thoughtful, modern touches such as numerous lighting options, charging ports, and large storage drawers for suitcases. Very comfortable layout for a family of four with teens, with large tatami area for two extra futon beds. Easy to share a bathroom since the toilet and two sinks are outside of the shower area. After seven days of japanese breakfasts, our family enjoyed the option to have toast and eggs.
