The location and ambience of the hotel

The lack of flexibility at the restaurant,as Chef was adamant that for food, we had to do the buffet or in the alternative full chicken or fish. When we requested to order from the al carte menu, our orders were always declined. For a hotel of its stature guests should be free to order for what they desire, otherwise why have menu if you cannot offer what is in it!

The location of the hotel is great and the view to lake Kivu and DRC is fantastic. The staff are all very service minded and very nice. The breakfast is great. The security at the hotel is good.

We had changes to our reservation date but the hotel does not have any processes to handle changes. We did the changes through the usual Booking.com portal. Upon arrival they had no room for us, they had no not checked their Booking.com chat and they could not find the email we had sent to them. We finally got a room but there were a few item missing in the room. We several times reminded the reception but the items did not show up during our stay! The restaurant is able to provide local dishes but stay away from their Italian inspired dishes. The pizza has nothing to do with a pizza and is not eat-able. Our New Year dinner involved their buffet. The meat at the buffet was not eat-able at all. The restaurant has a good selection of wines when reading the wine card. Unfortunately, most of the wines are not available. The staff has no been trained in serving wines and they have no clue about wines. As with so many other hotels around the world, the shower does not work at this Mantis hotel. I have no idea why the shower is not repaired as the cleaners will see the the problem every day they clean the bathroom. Their reporting to maintenance or the maintenance staff are not doing their work. The Mantis Kivu Marina Bay Hotel is a nice hotel but there are things that must be fixed before it deserve it's four-start rating.

Properly operated, clean facilities, nice services, good food

Spacious, clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast.

Price of restaurant dinner very high for quality. Room a bit soulless, some touches to decor would help make it feel more comfortable. At check-out I was given an invoice which charged me for the room and had to search through emails to demonstrate that I had already paid, which should already have been clear on the system.

Delicious Breakfast, Love the pastries. Liked the complementary Sauna and Steam.

The Massage rooms were small and not relaxing at all. The masseuse gave a great service still.
