Hotel Reineldis

Our room was lovely. It was spacious, attractive to look at, and had a large balcony overlooking the quiet street. (Too bad in mid-October it was too cool to enjoy it!) I was also pleased that they had turned on the heat in our room prior to our arrival. It is really depressing to walk into a chilly room at the end of the day. Our arrival was further enhanced by the fact that the woman who checked us in actually came out of the building to greet us when we arrived, she showed us where to put our bikes, and helped haul some of our paniers up to our room. This was especially above the call of duty since our bags were dirty and she was well dressed. Breakfast was good. We were initially disappointed when we first went into the breakfast room and saw only a basket of bread and a plate of meat & cheese, rather than the traditional buffet, but then the pampering started. She brought us a bowl of granola, asked us what kind of egg we would like and then served us a piece of cake, then brought us a brownie for later.

My only complaint about the hotel was the lack of a writing desk in the room. The lady running the hotel was quite happy to let me do my writing in the bar, but it was closed when we returned from supper.

Clean, comfortable room with a good bed, a roomy bathroom, and a decent breakfast. close to the Murradweg, safe bicycle storage. Grocery store and restaurant within walking distance. Friendly host.
