Babalao Bungalows

It’s a truly amazing oasis of peace and greenery in Nungwi. The outdoor gardens, the areas of the swimming pool and the bar/restaurant are the real hit - you even have plugs for charging phones and laptops, perfect for digital nomads and anyone who needs to do some remote working. Despite the occasional blackouts hitting Zanzibar, at Babalao not only have they a generator but also a device to keep the Wi-Fi running during the power outages. It’s just great! The different and varied breakfast every day is another highlight. Food & drinks are good in general, although prices are a bit more expensive than elsewhere. The whole design of the place with pieces of art literally everywhere is also extremely charming. The bungalow was spacious and clean, with free drinkable water provided every day. The location is very good, like a couple of minutes from the beach/beaches, restaurants, bars and shops. The manager, Jason, is a truly genius and probably the most dedicated manager I have ever met in a hotel: he takes care of every single guest, and solves and deals with all the issues arising in such a place - he wages a daily combat against chaos (please remember that Zanzibar is no paradise on Earth, it’s a tough place) and the results are simply amazing. Congrats to Babalao!

Nothing. Just the first night it smelled rather mouldy in the bungalow but the weather was quite bad when we stayed there - very humid and rainy. So I believe that it was just a temporary issue due to poor weather conditions.

L’hôtel est bien placé, proche de la mer. La déco et l’environnement sont très bien. Les chambres sont spacieuses Le personnel est très agréable.

Tout était parfait, l’accueil du personnel, leur amabilité, leur disponibilité. L’hôtel est très bien situé à deux pas de la plage et proche de tous les commerces et restaurants. Parfait!

Очень комфортный и современный отель, за свою цену просто потрясающий. Прекрасный вайб, приветливый персонал, вкусные разнообразные завтраки, жаль что мы были всего пару ночей. Обязательно остановимся ещё.

Свежесваренный кофе только за доплату (небольшую). Также менеджер был очень приветлив с гостями, но грубо обращался со своим персоналом. Будьте пожалуйста добрее к своим работникам, они были всегда с нами приветливы и старались сделать всё лучшим образом!

The staff were very attentive and friendly. Their hospitality was wonderful. They responded to all our questions and requests very quickly and positively.If I come back, I would definitely stay at this property again. We came as two families and stayed for 7 days. The food was extremely delicious and clean, and the rooms were also very clean. The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable holiday.It is very close to the beach, within walking distance. On our first night, they organized a local entertainment event, which was very fun and enjoyable.We would especially like to thank Jason for his care, help, and support.

Konumu çok nezih, otel çok temiz, kahvaltı keyifli. Odalar temiz ve konforlu. Personel çok ilgili. Sürekli bize sıcak su sağladılar. Çıkmadan otelde beklememize, namaz kılmamıza yardımcı oldular. Turlar konusunda ve taksi konusunda destek oldular. Gece hamak keyfi ve izole alanları güzeldi çevre otellere baktığımda doğru tercih olduğunu gözlemledim. Masaj imkanı da çok hoştu

I stayed a night and loved it so much that I stayed 2 weeks more! The attention to detail, ensuring your comfort, security and needs are met, is second to none. I had a wonderful single bungalow (queen size bed) with unlimited air conditioning, safe, fridge, fresh water and cleaning daily and a ceiling fan. It had an outside seating area in the peaceful, beautiful and safe tropical garden. Breakfast is huge, nutritionally well balanced and delicious. It's available from early up until 12! The menu, available all afternoon and evening, is incredible value with a great choice of freshly cooked local dishes available. Tours are available to book at the bungalows and I highly recommend a day out with local guide, Jovin... Aladdin presents himself in human form as a man named Jason... I honestly had amazing support and guidance from him... "Your Wish is my Command" is an appropriate mantra to represent his attitude and leadership standards he sets for the wonderful team he leads that work there. Just a few examples for me included, money exchange, trip planning, medical assistance, inteoduction to the property artist for a commissioned canvas to take home and sharing of local knowledge and information. I have visited 48 countries and stayed in multiple types of accommodation. I have also worked as a Tui rep supporting tourists in up to 5 star hotels. Until now I've always said my best ever personal customer experience was on Cunard... but this wonderful little place in Zanzibar has stolen my heart and knocked my socks off!

Be aware that there are occasional electricity outages, although the bungalows has a generator.... and water supply is occasionally disrupted.... this is an.issue on the island... not specifically at Babalao
