"Comfortable but lacking in general hospitability."

After climbing a steep set of stairs to reach reception from a barely visible Hotel front entrance, we were pleased to discover a well-maintained lift available to our fourth floor room. Without that lift, my stay at Peace Hotel would have been shortened as I am currently in recovery from a hip operation.

The room contained a welcoming kettle and two coffee mugs. However, after a short search we discovered that we couldn't find evidence of any complimentary coffee and sugar sachets or teaspoons. The response from reception was that we needed to provide our own provisions if required, and that if we needed to use teaspoons to stir our coffee, we would have to go to the shop down the road to buy some plastic ones. The receptionist was adamant that I could not borrow a teaspoon from the hotel.
