The hotel location is perfect in the entrance to the old city

Beautiful, clean, well-equipped room in a lovely older building. Excellent location, close to the various attractions and restaurants in town. Proprietor was helpful and very responsive. I was wary about the off-site parking, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the large lot and easy access. I was also skeptical about the off-site breakfast, but it was excellent--and we enjoyed the walk each morning. If we return to Nafplio someday, we would definitely stay at Kastello again.

Not fun carrying our suitcases up three flights of stairs; however, this was advertised very clearly, so I really can't complain. The room was not as quiet as we would have liked, but not bad for a place in the downtown area. (We arrived on a Friday, the evening prior to a big triathlon event, so the traffic was CRAZY, and the downtown area was very loud until late at night.) Nonetheless, Kastello is located a few blocks away from the heart of the downtown area, so it was quieter than a lot of other downtown hotels would have been.
