Hotel Alfréd a Hermína

Das Frühstück war am Wochenende nicht im Hotel - schade. Man musste sich leider erst selbst darum kümmern.

Sehr zentrale Lage, alles zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Personal hilfreich und freundlich.

Leider etwas laut, weil der Kühlschrank neben dem Bett brummt und sich nicht abschalten lässt. Ausserdem war auch morgens Baustellen Lärm zu hören.

I chose the hotel for its location, boutique style, and the unique decor of the rooms. I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is just steps from the main square, pubs, shops, and restaurants. Contacting the hotel was completely hassle-free. On arrival, I received detailed instructions on how to get to the hotel and my room (self-service). For me, it was the perfect solution. My room (which happened to be the last available one, so I had no choice) was great. Everything I wanted for a weekend getaway: clean, slim, nicely decorated, with toiletries in the bathroom, a kitchenette with everything you need. A comfortable bed and fragrant bedding. I recommend the hotel overall - I think I'll be back - but the breakfast location surprised me (especially since the hotel has its own café on the ground floor in the same building).

The only downside, which wasn't mentioned in the hotel description on Booking.com, was that breakfast is served "on-site." Breakfast is served at a different location, a cafe a block away (a 3-minute walk), but you won't be able to wear slippers to breakfast. Fortunately, the weather was great, but I can't imagine waking up to breakfast in the rain, sleepy. At the Tribes café, the service was very friendly, and breakfast for hotel guests was available with a choice of five options plus one drink (several coffees or teas). Breakfast was delicious; the omelet, Turkish eggs, and plain scrambled eggs were all very well-made! I recommend the hotel overall—I think I'll be back—but the breakfast location surprised me (especially since the hotel has its own café on the ground floor in the same building).
